“A millionaire's view”

For me, having stayed at many of the 5 star hotels in Bangkok (including the Mandarin Oriental, The Sukhothai, Sheraton Grande etc) The Peninsula is definitely my number 1 choice in this spectacular city. I love the swimming pool, the terrace where you have breakfast beside the Chao Phraya river, the river boat shuttle, the wonderful staff (special mention for exceptional front of house manager Vince) and the luxurious rooms. Most of all though, I feel that I can never tire of waking up each morning and looking out from my bedroom at the city of Bangkok spread out before me - it is a million dollar view and not to be missed. After twenty years of visiting Bangkok., I would never stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: Be picked up at the airport in the limo - it is not cheap but it is so worth it. I like a room on a...

“Service beyond expectations”

My husband and I were travelling to Koh Samui in February and he suprised me with a stop over in Bangkok. At the airport we were greeted by a very friendly Peninsula representative who walked us to our driver. The concierge who was already waiting for us in front of the hotel, escorted us to our room for the check-in. Since it was fairly early in the morning the hotel had even provided some danish and fresh juice for breakfast! Early afternoon we did some sightseeing. The hotel organized a long boat for us which we could enter from the hotel's pier. After a few hours of sightseeing by boat and foot we ended up at the Sheraton hotel (exhausted!). We asked the concierge at the Sheraton what the easiest way for us was to get back to our hotel .. and 10 min later the Peninsula shuttle boat collected us right from the Sheraton.
The next morning we enjoyed a great breakfast before heading back to the airport. We were again greeted by the same Peninsula representative who escorted us to the check-in gate. The line was huge he offered to stand in for us. After the check-in he even walked us to the gates.
Both my husband and I were absolutely amazed by the outstanding service that we have experienced at the Peninsula throughout the stay. It's a definite... when back in Bangkok, we will definitely stay at the Peninsula again!

Room Tip: 1707 has a great view over the river

“A great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2012

Although Peninsula Bangkok is at the far side the river, the further corner of Bangkok, it is very convenient for transportation. It takes only 30~40minutes from international airport if there is no traffic jam and the fee inclusive toll and tip is about 370b at most.
Peninsula Bangkok has his own pier and shuttle boats. Guests can take the boat as request till midnight. BTS (sky train) station is just on the other side of the river. The service is good. All employees are so nice and with smiles on their faces all the time. We bought a package which includes breakfast, so we had breakfast every morning beside the river. There are various foods for guests to choose. I like mangoes very much. Mangoes in Thailand are so sweet. The scenery of the river is so good especially at night. The second day we were in Peninsula, someone lit the fireworks on the other of the river. It is really beautiful.
I have never stayed in Peninsula before. It’s a great experience. I will choose Peninsula Bangkok again once I back to Bangkok.

“Peace in the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

This hotel offers impeccible 5 star service from start to finish. The lobby is refined and check in is effortless. The rooms are spacious, clean, big bathrooms, with a nice view of the river. One of my favorite features of the room is the ability to open the curtains, turn off/on the lights, control the temperature do anything from a little console on the side of the bed. The best parts of this hotel can be enjoyed outside. The breakfast brunch on the riverside is wonderful. The pool is such a great break from the busy city, and relaxing to swim with full service. Lastly the spa is a must! I got upgraded to one of the spa suites and had the best thai massage of my life. You can get massages much cheaper outside the hote but the spa is truly incredible. The Penisula is such a nice retreat to come back to after a day in the busy busy city of Bangkok.

Room Tip: If you can splurge go for a river view. The corner rooms are oddly shaped with narrow dressing quart...
