“Excellence in all facet !”

We stayed at the krunge Wing which was excellent value . The service was outstanding everyone was professional and at the same time friendly .All staff where accomdating to all our needs
The hotel is right near the skytrain which is the quickest and cheapest way to get around . Also you can catch the ferry to the palace right next door to the hotel . It is also near the freeway exit. This however is an older hotel more of an institution than swanky so if you are looking for a good nights sleep great service and a full stomach then this is the place for you !

The BMW transfer was well worth the money as we got to the airport in time and style,

“good experience but could have been better”

The check-in took really long time. I was with friends so we were still having fun. Our room was on the river side. It was really scenic. No doubt that the location of the hotel is just too good. We had something to eat and slept.

Next day all the friends got up and went for the breakfast. I was shocked to see that the breakfast was very limited. That was unlike a 5 star hotel. They certainly need to work on the providing more variety to their guests.

They also have a restaurant extended towards the river. It a good experience there too.

I had to ask many times to room service to get someone to clean my room.

“Great value, service and a outstanding hotel overall”

I had booked the Executive Suite for 1 day, came with a balcony overlooking the river and was also above the pool area, which also looked fantastic even though I didnt take a swim. The thing that stands out that I liked in this property was that the minibar was free of charge. And if it for some reason would get empty, they would refill it for FREE! Internet was free. Hell, most of the things were free, besides the room service of course. They had a good breakfast buffet with many things to choose from, you also recieved a menu where you could choose and they would cook it for you, and I also give some kudos to the chefs, my egg and bacon were perfect!

Only downside with this hotel is that it's far away from the entertainment and shopping malls. But its very close to the BTS so you can get around easly.

Room Tip: Choose a room with balcony, the view is overlooking the river, it's great!

We had a superb stay here - it's in a lovely convenient location right next to the river. The pool area is just tops..

“Great value by the Riverside”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I must be mad. I don't like huge hotels (if a hotel has an escalator I think it's too big) and yet I keep ending up at Shangri La properties where escalators are par for the course. Having said that, Shangri La do get service and - at the Krungthrep Wing at least - they also get boutique (or something approaching it by their gargantuan standards).

On previous visits to Bangkok we've stayed at the Banyan Tree. We love BT hotels and it was quite a decision to go somewhere else but we liked the idea of being by the river, with a spacious balcony and watching the world go by. We were not disappointed. We 'topped and tailed' our recent Thailand holiday with a stay here and not only is is luxurious but it also represents tremendous value for money. We stayed in the lower and upper floors on each visit. The lower floors have been refurbished (bathrooms anyway) but are closer to the noise from the motorway. The upper floors have more spectacular views and a little less noise but seem to be behind the curve for a refresh. Either way - the rooms are great.

Where the value comes is with the extras. Breakfast is included in the rate, as is 'Afternoon Tea' served for about 3 hours in the afternoon which then rolls straight into a 2 hour 'Happy Hour' where all drinks (cocktails, sparkling wines, beers - whatever you want) and canapés are complimentary.

The location is great too. The river is great but the proximity to the motorway means the Airport is a mere 30 minutes away. You are also only a few minutes walk from some great restaurants - from the cheap (Harmonique) to the high end (Scirocco atop the Lebua Tower) - heartily recommended.

Room Tip: The higher the better
