“Excellent for business but good enough for leisure too”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2012

This is my second stay at the Park Plaza; both times for business. I could have stayed at one of the larger chains such as the Sheraton but liked the sound of this hotel from the reviews on TripAdvisor. For me, as a business woman generally travelling on my own, I like smaller hotels as long as they do not sacrifice amenities and of course great service is a must.

The Park Plaza has definitely lived up to the accolades written here. Why book your stay?
- smaller quieter hotel; very quiet at night (windows must be double-glazed)
- exceptionally friendly staff; happy to book restaurants, call tailors and even organise impromptu cooking lessons with one of the chefs
- food is good; although the menu is not extensive, everything is prepared in a modern open kitchen in front of you in the dining area. The room service menu, always a good test, is very good. The Tom Yum Goong; spicy prawn, mushroom and lemongrass soup is exceptional with just the right balance of flavours
-the beds are incredibly comfortable and a very welcome thing when one has flown for hours across the world and you just want to go to sleep!
- the price. Excellent value

The cooking lesson was very enjoyable. It is not 100% hands on so cooking purists may not want this style of teaching; Chef preps the ingredients foe the 4 dishes we cooked beforehand. I loved it though as I only had a few hours to get a meal and leave for the airport so I managed to do the lesson, sit down to eat it inside of 2 hours and the price was reasonable.

The Park Plaza is definitely a Bangkok fixture for me now and I will be back when we holiday here next year

Room Tip: I upgraded to a bigger room and chose a corner suite 807

We stayed there few days in Feb 2012 and next time will go back. Located close to Asoka Skytrain station, very friendly and professional staff. Clean rooms, free wifi worked well, rooftop swimming pool was good. No bad things to say about this hotel!

“The bed's are so comfortable here!”

Just completed a stay at this hotel. I would actually rate it a 4.5 out of 5. There are a lot of pluses;
- near the Asok BTS station and subway
- wonderful roof- top deck and pool
- excellent service
- top notch breakfasts
- great looking rooms with a lot of amenities such as safe, iron, blow- dryer, good lighting, rain shower.
- of course the incredibly comfortable beds
- free wi- fi
I really liked this hotel. Ken, who works there was particularly helpful and friendly. They also have a gym which is a great plus but it is very small. If you had 3 people in there it felt like you were tripping over each other. There are certainly cheaper options out there but they do not have everything this hotel offers. I found the pictures already posted by other travelers to be accurate of the property.
I would definitely stay here again.

“Cosy and Comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

The hotel was located on what appears to be a busy business district in Bangkok. For those who are travelling for leisure (rather than work), it might've been worthwhile selecting a hotel closer to Siam area.
With that in mind, Park Plaza was still conveniently located about 50m walk to Asoke station. We didn't get to check out the new shopping centre, Terminal 21, but from what we saw, it appeared pretty nice.
The hotel itself was quite comfortable, clean, and well priced. The service from the front desk staff was good, and always greeted you with a smile. Breakfast wasn't included in the price (Why?). But wasn't all that exciting anyway.
Overall... a nice hotel- but would probably try something else next time.

Room Tip: we were upgraded as they ran out of standard rooms

“Very cozy for business travellers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2012

Overall, it was a good experience staying here as a business traveller. The room was neat, the bathroom was clean, the staff was kind and nice, the location was just 3-4 minutes walk from Asoke station when measured by my standard, free high-speed internet (Some other nearby hotel charged me as much as 500 baht a day, which was nearly 20% of the room fee.) and the rooftop pool had a good view.

One disappointment is that I chose "deluxe corner room" in order to have sunlight from the window but the sunlight was almost shut out by a nearby apartment. So I wonder what's the point choosing "deluxe corner room" and paying more.

Even the issue with deluxe corner room, i still think it was a good value.

Another small issue for me is that I just found out that I can't activate the Carlson membership the hotel staff gave me when I stayed there last time. The hotel staff must have registered my e-mail address incorrectly. It's not a big issue at all but I just think if I had a membership I would probably choose to stay there again for my business trips already planned for next month.
