Stayed here for 3 nights, 2nd stay. This hotel feels really homely, its boutique, so not a lot of rooms and the staff has a lot of attention for you. Also the number of staff is not large, therefore staff get to know you ans remember your name, breakfast preferences etc.
Check in is smooth, and while you are being checked in you can choose your soap and will be told about options and facilities in the hotel. As many travelers have written, the "anytime, anywhere" breakfast concept is great. We ate breakfast around noon everyday, so we didn't need to have lunch but just dinner afterwards. Breakfast is very good, with great danish and croissants, good coffee and eggs cooked a la minute, and yu can have it where you want, at the pool, in the room, in the lobby etc.
The staff is the highlight of this place, everyone is smiling, very attentive and again, remember things you like, which is really 5 star, mind you they all wear flip-flops though!
The bar on the 1st floor is good, although it seems to bright and therefore is not utilized a lot, however service of the staff there was excellent. Had there my evening beers before going out.
We thought the spa is a bit overpriced and therefore didn't use it, however I believe they offer good treatments as other travelers write in their reviews.
They things we didn't like and therefore couldn't give it excellent rating:
The pool is quite small and the loungers were quite a lot in use, felt like being a bit cramped together with other guests.
The water in the pool was very cold, you cant really go for a long relaxed swim, its rather a dip to cool off. Pool is also black so can feel a bit murky after sunset, bit its too cold to swim at that time anyway.
We had slight stained towels in our room, and a torn pillowcase, which is not a big issue however it might need some attention.
Lot of mosquitoes (we had a ground floor room) but that's not the hotels fault but be aware with keeping the doors open in the evenings.
All together a pleasant 4 star hotel with almost 5 star service, staff is well trained and extremely caring, upkeep of the premises is very good, and the breakfast concept is a big plus.
Attention needed on some amenities and perhaps make the pool more swim able, however it might be of good temperature in the raining season.
The rooms also got private coffee and tea makers, and a stocked minibar. The beds are very, very comfortable.
Definitely recommended and we will be back.
