We wound up staying much longer than planned in Chiang Mai. I think a lot had to do with Vanilla Place.

Mr Kem and his wife are excellent. They make a real effort to make vanilla place your home away from home.

We were quite sick when we came in. Our room wasnt ready yet, but Mr Kem quickly put us in to a superior room with the itention of moving us to our booked room when it was ready. When we asked to stay in the superior room for the duration of our stay it was absolutely no problem. Mr Kem and his wife genuinely care about your stay and well being, which makes Vanilla Place a warm, friendly, relaxed and fun place to stay.

What a lovely place!

Can't say too much more than every other review really - Mr. Kem and his family are delightful. The hotel has a good location close to the markets. They can't do enough to help you with getting your bearings in Chiang Mai, and trips, etc. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place, and would love to stay here again if I return to Chiang Mai.

The service at this guest house is perfect ! Everything worked very smoothly: pick-up from the airport. Very early breakfast on the day of our departure.
Free internet and a very basic breakfast. The location is great - within walking distance of the night market and the old town.
The room was basic with the bathroom is a worn state. Also the bed was not very comfortable as the mattresses were very soft.

We choose this guest house on the strength of the reviews on Tripadvisor. It has turned out to be first class. Mr Kem and his wife are delightful and extremely friendly. The rooms are bright, cool and clean. There are tv's in the rooms and hot water for showers. There is good wifi and free access to their pc providing you do not stay on for more than 15mins. The location is excellent being 5 mins from the night bazaar. Mr Kem also helped us in booking really good local attractions/courses etc at better rates than published prices. Highly recommend this place!
