This is a very nice hotel but very affordable. Horizon Club floor staff was very helpful in planning our activities. Chi Spa as always was excellent, breakfast has a very good spread. Short walking distance to the night market.

Stayed here fur 2 nights in suite. My suite was directly below the horizon club and very noisy as there is a stone floor section. Room was ok but quite dated. The hotel has a very dated feel to it. Staff are nice but all in all it is not really a shangrila more like a Hilton. Spa is very good though.

This was our home away from home for a week when we visited Chiang Mai. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable with a lot of attention payed to detail. We stayed at the Horizon Club level and the staff (especially George) were absolutely wonderful as they addressed our every need and made us feel very much at home. This may not be one of the first and more established Shangri-La's but they are certainly fast followers and have already surpassed some of the more established Shangri-La's that we have stayed in in terms of comfort and service.

My family of five – two grandparents, our son and daughter-in-law and toddler Sofia - found the Shangri La Hotel in Chiang Mai a beautiful oasis only a short taxi ride from the airport. We stayed on a Horizon Club floor, which I highly recommend. The staff including Taemasin (just call me “George”), Nongluk (Pui), the manager, Apin Ya, Yui and Da made us feel as if we were the only guests they were there to serve. The expedited check-in, delicious breakfasts, all day refreshments, happy hours, and very competent concierge service contributed to a memorable stay. The public areas, landscape, pool area, and restaurants are beautiful and our room was fully equipped and immaculate. I also appreciate the lovely doormen, a couple of whom stopped a wandering little girl from leaving the hotel ahead of her family. This hotel does everything right!
