“A must stay resort to relax”

My wife and I stayed for a week in this beautiful resort. First off I have to say I hesitated at first to give a 5 rating to this hotel but chose to after all simply because I knew the negatives off hand. As far as the villa goes its above and beyond spacious and comfortable. The plunge pool is more of a lap pool great for lounging or getting a nice workout. The restaurants are fantastic. Yes expensive but they do not sacrifice anything as far as quality and options. I do feel the staff could do a better job of letting you know what options and offers are available. For example we did not know there is a happy hour by the concierge until the last night when I went to print my boarding pass. The bartender felt bad I had no idea of the happy hour and gave me the happy hour price even though I had just missed it by a few minutes. Something else we could have missed but were fortunate not to was the cooking class offered. I highly recommend it even if you don't cook very much. It was great fun and just hands on enough for my taste. The food came out great and we received aprons, a certificate and a nice tour of the garden where many of the herbs come from. We also arranged a boat tour and were picked up and dropped off at the floating pier. Much better then driving or getting shuttled to the opposite side of the island. Last but not least I have to say the breakfast was fantastic every morning. The congi, dim sum, fresh fruit and food library was great but don't skip the egg station. The eggspert at that station takes his job VERY serious and it shows in the quality of the end result.

Room Tip: Higher is nice but lower is closer to the large pool.

“Spectacular views, peaceful...a great escape.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

Samui today is almost like Phuket 15 years ago but with the new luxury resorts of today to pamper yourself by. The new Conrad Koh Samui is definitely worth a stay and merits a 'return to' for me. It's a 45 min drive from the quaint 'island-style' airport and a nice drive along the coastal roads to the hotel. Situated on a cliff side, the individual pool villas all have beautiful ocean views facing west which allows for some really dramatic sunsets to be enjoyed by the pool. Clean, well serviced, friendly staff who do make an effort to tend to your needs help make up for the F&B that just seems to need some finishing touches to make the A+ grade. The in-room dining is a little spotty in terms of quality of food, much better at the restaurants. Don't miss the spa here as its really nice. The spa suites also enjoy the same elevated oceanfront views and a light meal after your treatment right on the terrace within each treatment suite is just amazing. I will definitely be returning to this beautiful resort in the near future.

“A great villa resort if you want to relax and be quiet for yourself”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2012

Villas are definetly really really nice (hard to find better anywhere in the world) and all of them have superb views.

The property is far from where things happen on Ko Samui - so if you are there to relax and unwind, and not be bothered - this place is perfect.

Beach is not great, or at least not as you expect from a super resort - but the pools in each villa kinda make up for it.

Food is generally pretty good - sometimes seafood a little over cooked. The main restuarant ZEST by reception is the best. The upscale one, JANN was a disappointment.....I dont mibnd paying a lot for food, but the menu and dishes was really so, so. Starters and desserts were ok.

Service also generally pretty good - but much of staff is really no great at English, which creates some issues here and there.

***Definetly do the Thai cooking class - excellent experience and food. Also do a boat (day) trip - great fun with snorkeliing, fishing, dining in village, water skiing, and beaching...

Overall - still clearly a new property that has been up for a few months = nice hardware, but operational process not fully ironed out, service a little inconsistent, quality of food swinging.....but people are trying hard, so surely things will get excellent like at e.g. Conrad in Maldives, when this place have some more experience and track record.

Room Tip: Take a villa "in the middle" - not too far from the reception - this way you will not need...

“"Beware HH Gold & Diamond members, and other guests..."”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2012

My husband and I spent 8 nights at the new Conrad resort in Koh Samui in early February 2012. We have been to many of the top Hilton resorts over the past 10 years, including all three in the Maldives, one in the Seychelles, Mauritius, Bora Bora, Morea, Phuket, Barbados, and others. We had great expectations for our visit to Conrad Koh Samui, but we were quite disappointed about various aspects of our stay.

Other reviewers have praised the beautifully appointed villas and the spectacular view from each unit, and we fully agree with these comments. It has also been mentioned that the resort has no beach, which was disappointing to us. Moreover, one cannot walk around the property, since roads are very steep and only suited for buggy transportation. Since the resort is in remote corner of the island, we strongly recommend to take a rental car (that is, if you don't mind driving on the left) and thus be able to get to beaches, restaurants and night life.

As a HHonors Gold member I was very disappointed about the lack of benefits received at this resort. It was clear from the beginning that a villa upgrade was not an option, since all villas are of the same size. Then, what did Conrad Koh Samui offer as a compensation: A bottle of red wine in the room and a half hour foot massage in the Spa! Not impressive at all, when most other Hilton resorts provide a villa upgrade, or, if that is not possible, a free daily happy hour at one of the bars. Thus, if you are concerned about receiving some HH perks, try a different Hilton resort.

We also felt that there is very little effort by the Conrad management to interact with the guests. In most resorts we have visited, a weekly get-together was arranged so that guests could have the opportunity to convey their impressions about the resort directly to the management (GM and others). Such an arrangement was not on the books at Conrad Koh Samui. We luckily met the Food & Beverage Manager Roman from Austria, and he was extremely helpful throughout our stay. The rest of the management team was conspicuous by their absence for 8 days in a row!

“The MOST Amazing place you will ever go.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

One of the many reason It is amazing because it is away from all the tourist areas. You have lots of privacy with your love.:) From the moment you check-in to the moment you check out, people are so warm, friendly, and sincere. They help you with anything you need. So much to write so I will try to keep it short.

Things we LOVED: ALL who worked there, buggy service, Hilton Diamond perks, modern rooms with bathrooms as big as your master bedroom, complimentary water bottle service, the boutique shop. fitness center, the restaurants, The Spa, a TV that you can access the internet with (they use APPLE technology), private pool, turn down service, amazing views, and you don't have to leave the resort (everything you need is there).

This is a great place to stay to end your trip in Thailand. Must see, must experience.....you will not regret your time here.

There really wasn't anything we didn't like. The food was a little pricey but you are on vacation and YOU are worth it:)

Room Tip: All the villas are amazing.
