Poppies is just a BLOW!! I will skip most of the details, just to say: Poppies turned out to be the TOP HIGHLIGHT of our three week long stay in Thailand and unexpectedly, one of THE BEST hotels we have ever stayed in!
Before booking here, we also considered:
- The Napasai: turned out too remote;
- The Library: location in central part of Chaweng turned out pretty noisy;
- The Buri Rasa: located conveniently further south, but currently construction sites on both sides of the hotel.
In Poppies we found everything top notch and beyond our expectations: spacey bungalows set amidst lush tropical vegetation, with beautifully designed open air bathrooms, excellent food (best white snipper ever!), dedicated service (especially dear Ms. Lek, whom our kids loved so much!), welcoming beach and last but not least, a breathtakingly alluring garden.
It's the little things, that made the difference: breakfast served till 12.00, fresh fruits in room and fresh flower in water bowl before cottage every day, beach cleaned and combed every morning, hot breadrolls served during breafasts, fish pond with sounds of trickling water and so much more.. Stepping into Poppies is like stepping into another world, quiet and charming and so different to the bustling, tacky street of Chaweng that is just steps away. The location couldn't be better, too: south end of Chaweng beach is quiet and peacefull, in contrast to it's central or northern part - so if it's parties you will be after, just take a stroll up the beach and there you go! You have all the amenities of Chaweng just a short walk away from the cottage, yet enjoy the blissfull comfort of a luxurious setting at Poppies.
We visited a number of places, slept in a lot of hotels, but never before have our kids cried when we had to leave. At Poppies, they did. Hope to be back, thank You Poppies.
