“Serene and stylish stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2012

Just returned from 6 nights in a deluxe balcony room at Sala Samui. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return again next year without a doubt.

Service - impeccable. Friendly and professional and really made us feel at home.

Pools - gorgeous. We spent our days moving between the sea, white pool and black pool and never got bored. The black pool warms up during the day and is like a warm bath by the end. So nice to have two different pool styles as well - a fun pool and then a more serene pool for laps/chilling out. Happy hours at the pool bar from 2-3pm and 5-7pm.

Rooms - beautiful and stylish. Really comfortable bed and quiet so slept perfectly. Bring a mirror with you if you want to style your hair or apply make up in the room as the only mirrors were outside which was quite warm in the evenings. Especially when trying to use a hair dryer! House keeping would leave traditional Thai sweets at the end of each evening which was lovely. We almost booked a pool villa instead of deluxe balcony - but I'm happy we chose not to as the resort pools are so gorgeous that we didn't regret our decision at all.

Breakfast - amazing. The quality of food was exceptional and the selection of a la carte options was fantastic. Beautiful setting as well. Served until 11am which is nice and late compared to some Thai resorts.

Spa - worth the splurge. A 90 minute aromatherapy massage cost 3600thb including tax and service which is very pricy compared to the 400THB massages on the beach, but definitely a great, relaxing, indulgent experience (and still a good deal compared to the UK). They also offered Thai massages by the black pool for 850THB including tax/service which was great.

Location - the beach was beautiful and the area outside of Sala Samui seemed private. The rest of the beach gets very busy with deck-chairs, but that's much further down the beach. A short walk from Choeng Mon for cheap restaurants, 7-11 etc and a 10min taxi ride to Chaweng or Fisherman's Village for nightlife. The resort offer a shuttle service on the hour at 200 baht per couple to Chaweng, otherwise a hotel taxi is only 300 baht.

We have stayed in a number of places in Samui and rate Sala as the best for ambience and style. We look forward to staying again - thank you to everyone at Sala!

“Beautiful Resort”

Everything about this hotel was wonderful - the very friendly and helpful staff, the beautiful rooms, the restaurant, and the fantastic location on a quiet beach. It is close enough (5 mins walk) to a small village with a good selection of bars and restaurants, and is only 10 minutes in a taxi to Fisherman's Village and Chaweng

Room Tip: Go for the bungalows with a pool if your budget allows it.

This place is one of the most beautiful and characteristic places of the whole Island!!
The staff is super friendly...always happy and willing to help you with everything!
We had even the opportunity to do food carving, traditional activity of thai...my girlfriend loved it.
The villa's are clean and the food is the best on the world! They serve breakfast in a lovely area outside and have the most stunning and delicious food on the menu.
Swimmingpool, which is important, is clean with a view to kill for! If you are a beach boy or girl this is the place!! Please try the Tom yam cocktail; they are full of natural thai ingredients and a super refreshment during the day. This morning we had yoga lesson and this was if we were on a other world...rising sun, birds tweeting and a very kind teacher!
We love to come back!!!!!

“Fabulous Honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We stayed in pool villa number 1 for 8 nights. I really can't say enough wonderful things about this place. It was everything we hoped for and more.

Our villa consisted of a comfortable outdoor shaded sunbed, 2 unshaded sunbeds, and our own private pool which was larger than we had expected. The bathroom is beautiful! There is a big marble tub and an outdoor shower. The room itself had 2 large wardrobes and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. There is a large flat screen tv in the room with some english channels or you can borrow dvd's from reception.

Breakfast was included in our package and it was great. There is a buffet with fruits, breads, juices, made to order eggs and omelets and some thai dishes or you can order from a menu.. or both! We ordered room service for lunch and dinner a couple times and it was really good. It is a luxury hotel so you should expect to pay prices close to what you would pay in Australia. However, there are heaps of cheap but delicious restaurants within walking distance. Honeys at the end of the beach is excellent and so is Orchid just out on the main road.

The staff at this resort are amazing. So friendly and accomodating. When we went out at night we would come back to find our villa all lit up, mosquito coils burning, bed turned down and a treat from the chef left on our bed. Really cool!

We went for a couples massage and it was the best massage ever. So nice and relaxing. The spa is beautiful. We also had a cheaper massage in town which was okay, but not near as relaxing as the Sala's spa. At least try it once, it is so worth it. I also had a pedicure there. Once again, prices for the spa are similar to home.

The 2 pools at Sala are amazing!! There is the beautiful black pool and the main Sala pool.

Extras:
Check out the Bophut Fisherman's Village for the markets on Friday night.
You can book a half day or full day tour of Samui with the hotel. Totally worth it!
For about $2 you can take the hotel shuttle into Chewang, but taxis are very affordable too.
We visited the dog rescue place in Chewang. I am a major animal lover and I am so glad I did this.. they are making such a huge difference on the island.

Email me with any questions. :)
