My boyfriend and I booked Charming 2 Hotel twice for a total of 4 nights and it was an amazing stay.
We arrived in Hanoi at 1pm and proceeded to go to Charming 2 to see if we could leave our luggage there (we didn't have a booking that night because we had an overnight train to Sapa booked).
When we arrived at Charming 2, we explained to them that we had a booking, but it was not for another 3 days and we asked if we could leave our luggage there until we came back from Sapa.
To our surprise, not only were the Staff at Charming 2 willing to hold our bags for us for the next 3 days, but they also told us that they could offer us a complimentary room to 'freshen up' before our overnight train trip.
Lana and Rose recommended a few restaurants to us for lunch and told us that the room would be ready by 5pm (our overnight train was at 7pm). So we went out to lunch and got back around 4pm to wait for our room to be ready, but as soon as we stepped into the hotel, we were whisked away to our complimentary room. This was a fully furnished, cleaned, double room with tv, internet, computer, complete bathroom and even complimentary bottles of water!
Amazing first impression!
After our Sapa trip 3 days later, we arrived back in Hanoi at 5am and got dropped off by the cab. The hotel was pitch black and locked so we couldn't get in - we ended up finding the doorbell to ring and in the dark through the doors, saw the Hotel Manager bolt upright as he and the other hotel staff were sleeping in cots in the Lobby. We felt so bad for waking them up, but they were completely gracious and scrambled to unlock the doors and check us into our room that day...at 5am in the morning!
We ended up staying for 2 nights and then had to leave our luggage at the hotel again while we went to Halong Bay.
Our stay at Charming 2 was excellent. The staff always said hello and remembered our names, our itineraries and were very eager to help us whenever we needed. The hotel itself was very comfortable, clean spacious rooms and tv with cable. Wifi was also available but Facebook was blocked.
This was one of the most accommodating hotels i've ever stayed at, and would definitely recommend this to travellers going to Hanoi and looking to go away for day or overnight trips!
