“Saigon Maxi Hotel for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel and were impressed with the staff. We were firstly upgraded on arrival at no extra charge. breakfast was included which was delicious and for the price of the rooms they included a minibar, hairdryer, bath/shower, safe, amazingly comfortable beds, breakfast, TV, super fast wi-fi and telephone. The rooms were clean and spacious, with an elevator (always a plus with luggage). The housekeeping and kitchen staff were friendly and helpful. The laundry was completed within one day and were provided a shower room the day we checked out, as we left the hotel at 11pm that evening (at no extra charge).

This hotel was also central in District 1 and the half day city tour and the full day Cu Chi Tunnels tour were arranged efficiently, as well as our onward train tickets.

The only thing to highlight is that some of the reception staff don't speak English very well, so be patient it may take a little longer to explain.

Room Tip: We had room 201 which was a deluxe room.

“petite yet very nice”

Nice small place. Front desk ladies are really nice, im too tired but my room isn't ready yet so they offered me another room just to refresh myself while they're making up my room, it was 8:00 in the morning. At 10 oclock i was able to enjoy my deluxe room on the fourth floor with a nice city view. The room is equipped with all the basic things that you need including a safe. Breakfast is in the roof top and you have the options of continental, American or Vietnamese type. They were able to help me book a cab to the airport at the wee hour of the night without any hassle.

“Cheap, clean and central”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

Located near everything in the backpacker district, but down an alleyway so there is much less traffic noise than somewhere on the street.

Rooms were clean and generally well equipped. Not the world's most amazing hotel rooms, but definitely excellent for the price.

Staff were very friendly and had good English.

“Great location and friendly service”

We had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at this hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. Whilst it was small it was well appointed with everything that you need. The staff were super friendly and organised taxis to the airport and other excursions. Breakfast each morning was varied and delicious. Overall great value for money.

“Your best bet in Ho Chi Minh City!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

We were staying in HCMC for a week so I emailed them for weekly rates. They quoted us 1/2 the price on the websites with lots of good travel advice in HCMC. When we arrived, got a free upgrade to a room with a view. The room was a definitely pleasant surprise. Almost 5-star in a backpacker setting. The bed was super comfy and clean. The duvet heavenly. We practically didn't get out of bed for a whole day. TV, mini fridge, free wifi, air conditioning. bathroom is a bit small, but above standard in HCMC. The staff spoke English well enough and very friendly. We weren't picky about which Saigon Mini to stay and got 2 and 3 respectivly on 2 different weeks. Both were very clean.

It's a little off from the backpackers district, not easy to find if you don't know the area, just 1 street down from Bui Vien. It is still close enough to everything walking. Besides, taxis are so cheap in HCMC, you can always get one on the big street.

When we came back to Saigon Mini 2 weeks later, got the same rate and another upgrade. We were treated very well. Definitely recommend to backpacking couples want somewhere decent for a while.
