“Excellent !!!!”

We booked this hotel by accident, but as it turned out it was the best mistake we have made when booking a hotel. The hotel is situated by the river with lovely views across same and interesting sights of watching the various river traffic.
The staff were curteous and helpful, and with several excellent restaurants on site, dining out was only a necessary option on one evening. Getting into Ho Chi Minh City was straight forward and cheap, either by taxi or river taxi.
The room we stayed in was of a good size and overlooked the pool and contained tea making facilities.
We found it a great place to relax and unwind at a good price, if you shop around....

“Our all-time favorite”

Villa Song was by far the best place we ever stayed in - and not just in Vietnam! The rooms are beautiful, the food and personnel absolutely outstanding. It was a pleasure to sit there watching the boats on the river and an oasis to return to after a hectic day in Saigon. Villa Song also has a boat shuttle which docks very centrally, so going into the city is very simple. Saigon itself offers a range of topnotch hotels, but Villa Song is in a class by itself. Give yourself a treat like we did and stay here! Can't recommend it enough!

Room Tip: They're ALL good!

“Most fantastic hotel...”

Stayed at Thao Dien Village (now Villa Song Saigon) for a week and had a fantastic time. This is a hidden gem outside of HCMC that we will never forget. The interior in the suite and the rest of the hotel was amazing and it was easy and cheap to travel the 15-20 min to city centre HCMC by taxi.

After a busy day exploring Saigon, it was wonderful to relax in the luxurious surroundings of the hotel. Staff was very friendly and food was good.

We also signed up for trip to cu chi tunnels, which was a memorable trip by boat on Saigon river starting from the hotel. This would be my first choice of hotel if ever going back to HCMC! Loved it!

Room Tip: We booked a suite with big balcony facing the breakfast garden and Saigon river. Spacious and amazin...

“1 night stay- 170 USD- Big disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

Eventhough we are living in HCMC, we stayed at the hotel for 1 night.
I had booked this hotel as a surprise for my bf and we were really looking forward to a romantic and nice weekend. Nothing else then good food, sun and relaxation.

We arrived with high expectations but I have experienced better stays in far lower priced hotels within Asia and far better food in HCMC.

The rooms are cute french style, with big wooden beds but very, very small and our room was very dark (pool view room 170 USD per night).

There were constructions around the hotel and lying on the pool was everything but relaxing. And that was actually why we stayed there: to escape the city noise.

We had dinner at the restaurant outside on the river. At this evening a big group of 20 people had their Xmas dinner there. Maybe that's why the staff was overwhelmed by too many guests. They didn't bring our starters, they brought wrong food, the salmon Carpaccio was warm.
I had a pizza which was below average.
The restaurant toilets? ... I couldn't even close the door!

I was very disappointed.

The breakfast the next morning was to be honest: a joke.
You can choose from around 5 breakfast options on the menue.
I had yogurt with fruits. Well, not much can go wrong with that.
My boyfriend had the egg Benedict which was nothing else but boring and tasteless and with this kind of processed ham which you can buy here in Coopmart.
The bread basket was tiny with 4 small pieces of bread and the worse: the baguette came frozen inside and we had to ask the staff many times to bring us new ones.

Especially with having great sources like Annam supermarket and Voelker bakery so close by, how can the food be so bad?! I'm wondering.

I don't know...maybe it was just bad luck and the whole weekend wasn't "our" weekend but we left very, very disappointed.

Looking back, I wouldn't go there again.
The pool view room (a tiny window towards the pool) was 170 USD per night (via agoda) and for that money you can also book a flight for 2 people to a nicer destination.

Sorry....
:(

“Lovely hotel but tons of mosquitoes!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

This was the last stop on our travels through Vietnam & Cambodia. We had previous stayed in district 1 in Saigon, but figured the quiet surroundings of district 2 would be a nice ending to a long trip. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are very helpful- absolutely no complaints about that. But the hotel is located on the water which means tons of mosquitoes. I had to leave dinner early one night because I was getting eaten alive in their outdoor restaurant. They were also in our hotel room- my husband and I could not sleep through the night because they were biting our faces and getting under the covers. I even applied bug spray one of the days but to no avail.
