“Nice view at the top floor, but a bit far from town ...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

Other than the location (8-10 minutes to town, you need to pay $2/trip to town), we quite like the hotel. If you are average budget traveler, this hotel will just fit for you. Tuk tuk from Phnom Penh Market(bust station) to your hotel should not be more than $2/trip/tuk tuk.

Tips for travel to Siem Reap via Phnom Penh:
If you planning to travel from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap by bus, I would recommend you to take Mekong Express (approx $12/person), it is (6-7hrs) journey. Salita Hotel will recommend you to take a local express bus (cant remember the name. something like Songkra bus) at $9/person, I did that and felt regret as the tuk tuk driver overthere are bad/not honest, believe it or not, the tuk tuk driver dropped us in the middle of half way road because I did not want to take their day trip offer. Take Mekong Express, you can file complain and get refund if you are unhappy with their service, that is what I heard from one of the tuk tuk driver working with Mekong Express.

Once you reach Siem Reap, there are 50 tuk tuk drivers assigned by Mekong Express waiting for you. They will even offer free trip from the bus station to your hotel for free but you need to sign up them for day trip. It is approx $13-$15 per day per tuk tuk (not charging by person) (9am to 4pm) to visit the runs city/temples. You need to pay additional $5 for catching sunrise and sunset. A trip from airport to/from hotel is approx $5. Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions.

“Hot, Hot, Hot”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2012

Nice room, clean, large, nice view. But they need to find some working air conditioning. Coming out of the sweltering heat to a 30 degree (celcius) room is not fun. Lovely staff but awful food.

“Thanks to Dorn and the girl who can speak 4 kinds of languages”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

My husband and I were in Salita for 3 days, during these days, Dorn and the girl helped us a lot and we felt very good and happy. It was just during the Chinese Spring Festival, we want to call our parents, Dorn help us buy the card and let us use his phone to make the international call. Except that, he also helped ask a taxi to pick up me when we arrived at Phnom Penth. The girl who can speak 4 kinds of languages helped us about the restaurant and plan the tour in Phnom Penth. Again, we are really thanks for their help and kindness. And I will recommend Salita to my friends.

“You Can Do Better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

No comment on the welcome as there was none. Hotel is run and set up for Korean visitors so breakfast was terrible. Staff were average to poor. A very "mean" hotel. Asked for some extra milk/coffee mate for my coffee, told they would sell me some. Made a bus booking to Ho Chi Mingh City and they got tickets to Siem Reap. Not a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Don't bother
