“Good location for our needs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Initially we were not happy with the suite that we were given on the ground floor, but the staff were more than happy to arrange for us to be moved to the 1st floor. As another review has stated, the photos do not exactly reflect the finish of the hotel, but then for the price you are paying it is more than adequate.
The rooms are a little underfinished and with few amenties supplied, but the pool area was more than adequate for a cool dip after a hot day out sightseeing. Good airconditioning in the rooms.
We found the breakfast very adequate for what we required, with a variety of hot dishes, toast, cereal and eggs cooked various ways.
The staff were more than helpful, though English was a problem at times. They would bend over backwards to assist where they could.
The location was within walking distance to many sights, restaurants and we did not use a tuk tuk at all while there - but we enjoy to walk and experience the sights and sounds.
I would recommend this hotel, but don't expect a 5 star room for this price.

Thanks for taking the time to review Hotel Nine

We work very hard with our staff for customer service and it is rewarding to know that we are succeeding in that area. The idea behind putting the pool in the hotel was just to have somewhere cool to relax after a day f exploring the great city of Phnom Penh, it is by no means a he pool that you can do laps in, but is more than adequate to cool off.

We apologise for the lack of amenities in the room, normally there should be soap, shampoo, body foam & toothbrushes in every room. We have been waiting for stocks to arrive as there is a shortage in Phnom Penh due to the amount of new hotels starting up. We have now received our order and this will not happen again.

Thanks again for the review and the recommendation. Highly appreciated.

“Just an average option”

I spent 01 night here last New Year holiday on the 1st Jan. 2012. Overall, it is just ok option, we expect more from the rating on TripAdvisor and what we paid for the rate. Room was not clean, no paper tissue provided. Swimming pool is just a plunge pool and nice setting in photos only. Breakfast was basic. Not value for money!

It is true that the pool is not huge, we have never promoted the pool as anything but a small pool to cool off after a day of sight seeing in Phnom Penh.

For the breakfast we offer a buffet, which includes the following, selection of cereals, Juices, fresh fruit, toast, jam, eggs cooked to order, tea & coffee, we have 3 hot dishes daily that we rotate, depending on the day they can be, pancakes, fried rice, grilled tomatos, sauted mushrooms, sausages and French toast. While we understand it is hard to make sure that we have something that everyone likes, we have done our best to cater for a wide array of tastes. We apologise if there was nothing to your liking. We would really appreciate any suggestions that you may have to include on the menu and you could email the hotel that would be highly appreciated.

We have implanted stricter cleaning procedure to make sure that rooms are spotlessly clean.

“Clean, pretty, friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Great little hotel. Was awesome to sleep on a soft bed after a week of hard mattresses in Siem Reap! We stayed with our two kids (5 & 4) and had a great time. Breakfast is basic but was enough for us. Part of visiting another country is to sample the local food and hospitality and support the little businesses outside of hotels. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful Tuk Tuk driver (No. 11 Mr Sulvan); who is attached to Hotel Nine. Would definitely recommend this hotel - is close to lots of Phnom Penh touristy things - and would stay here again. Thanks Hotel Nine! :)

“I expected more”

We were a bit disappointed with the hotel. They all can make a very nice pictures, but the reality is a bit different. The rooms are clean, but basic. Breakfast was very basic, not too much choise. The pool looks good in the picture, but it is very small, always in the shadow (so the water is cold) and you can not really enjoy it. The location was pretty decent, you could walk to Royal Palace and a bit further to the river side where you can find a lot of restaurance. We enjoyed a very good dinner in "Ngon" Vietnam restaurant, which is at the walking distance behind the Liberty monument; very good and tasty food.

It is true that the pool is not huge, we have never promoted the pool as anything but a small pool to cool off after a day of sight seeing in Phnom Penh. I can assure you that we have never photo shopped any of the images on our website. You can see travelers photos here on trip advisor which have been submitted by guests.

“Little oase in phnom penh”

Simply a fine modern hotel with excellent personnel. Maybe the personnel is even too polite. They can make your stay even better by more advice for trips etc.
But bettel too polite than the regular asian hassle.
