“A HINT OF LUXURY”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

The central palace hotel is very close to taxim sq. (3 min on foot). A decent hotel, clean and comfortable in general. Breakfast ok, rooms spacius and bathrooms too. They provide slippers and bathrobes (but no coffee facilities), safety box and my room had a static bicycle(!). Service is slow, but extremely polite, its perhaps the citys rythm. I would stay again in this hotel. Tips: Go to istiklal road and eat kumpi (its a baked potato with anything you wish to put inside).Cheap, filling and tasy! Wonder in the small streets around istiklal-you will find places to smoke nargile and eat at local restaurants. Check were locals go. ALWAYS ASK THE PRICE BEFORE EATING. If you take a taxi, tell the driver to put the meter on. Dont drink tap water. Hundrens of places to go-i could go on all day.

“A hotel in a stone throw away from Taksim Square”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

This is a small hotel which is just a stone throw away from Taksim Square. Main selling point can be its breakfast, which is amazing. It has got rooms with the view of Bosphorus Strait. Room is moderate and comfortable. Service is good enough. But hotel is far away from being a star hotel given its basic facilities - small and basic gym hall, no swimming pool. Frustrating thing in this hotel was lack of iron and iron board, which is expected in any business hotel. This hotel is ideal for leisure traveler.

“Met All Expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

Stayed at the Central Palace Hotel the beginning of Sept. for 4 nights. Family of 4, with 2 rooms, adjacent to each other. The hotel is located a short walk from Taksim Square, where there is a lot of activity, shopping and restaurants. We had rooms with a balcony, with view of the city (partially blocked by some rooftops, but still nice) and a jacuzzi. The rooms were spacious, clean, and the beds were comfortable.
The included breakfast buffet was ample in its offerings, and the quality was pretty good. They had everything from 3 types of yogurt, to fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, meats, cereals, etc. While we never had dinner there, we were all satisfied with the breakfast.
The service staff was responsive to any needs. Bathrooms were large, with hairdryers, so there was no concern over having to charge an appliance. The front desk staff spoke English and was able to guide us. One of the doormen was especially friendly and gave us "language lessons" while we had our Turkish coffee outside at their cafe.

We had no negative experiences here, and found it easy to get assistance and directions. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We were on the 9th floor. Very quiet. the balconies were delightful...open up the French doors and g...

“Comfortable Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

Stayed for two nights, got upgraded on arrival to a suite.
The rooms were huge with all the bids and pieces you
Would or could need. The beds are very comfortable
And everything was spotless. Our room had a big balcony
With great views over Istanbul. It’s a tourist hotel and the
Atmosphere is according. We enjoyed the breakfast
which was typical for the region. The hotel has got a restaurant,
but we did notice an absence of Alcohol that might be seasonal.
Taksim square is a 3-min walk; it leads to one of the longest
Shopping malls in the world with restaurants and bars.
The hotel staff was helpful and polite. It’s a comfortable
Hotel, good location and close to public transport.

“Expected more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2011

The Central Palace Hotel is a quite nice hotel, but I never got the really nice feeling about it, it didn't feel very personal. The hotel is overall very clean and feels new.

(!) Beware about the hotel description on Bookings.com or other sites. For example they promise balcony in every room - which is not true.

LOCATION is very good, near the large shopping streets in Taksim area, but on a smaller and more quiet street. Nicer restaurants can be found just a couple of blocks away, smaller ones just nearby. Kiosk across the street.

ROOMS are large with a large bathroom, incuding what is called a "mini-spa" - a combined shower and thub which can be closed and used as a steaming sauna. Mine didn't work unfortunatley. Rooms includes private bathroom, TV, desk, telephone, mini-bar, in-room-safe, very comfortable beds.

BREAKFAST was a nice experience with varieties of fruits, vegetables, sweets, cheese, eggs, coffee/tea etc.

SERVICE is of regular turkish quality for a hotel of this class. Don't expect the staff to give you a smile or something though (according to my translator this is typical turkish behavior - even if I didn't like it - apparantley it comes to respect for the guest).

SAFETY 24 hour reception, monitored elevators and in-room-safe.

NO ALCOHOL is served at this hotel, nore can be found in the minibar.

+ Location - quiet, but close to the city center.
+ Good condition - feels new and clean.
+ Full service for business meetings.

- The so called "mini-spa" in each room was worn out totally.
- Restaurant service, not much to offer on the menu and no alcohol.
- Sour staff.
