I will recommend the hotel because they have professional staff who can speak English fluently. The hotel is clean and close to anywhere in down town area beside the hotel provide a free shuttle bus to the guest. However, the bus driver some time is impolite when speaking to the guest and there is no free internet access in the room. Overall services are excellent with relatively less expensive compared to other five star hotels in the city.
In Asia you often get a great selection of breakfast if you stay in a more upmarket hotel. The Grand Ambassador is in my top three selection of best buffet breakfast ever. Especially the 'on demand' juice station is great.
I was on a business trip in Seoul and I must say I still do not fully understand the lay out of the city. That's what happens if there's a car ready every time you leave the hotel. I didn't get the impression that it was a central location. The neigborhoord wasn't that inviting to start wandering around. It's a busy road and I didn't see anything interesting in the immediate surroundings of the hotel.
Room was great. I had a club room (or what ever they call it), so I had free internet which was for me an absolute bonus. On our floor there was also a service deks to help you with everything you needed. In the pillow menu there was an option for 'a Korean pillow' which didn't look all that comfortable to me :)
We had dinner twice in the restaurant and it was international ciusine at an ok level. I must say I didn't care that much for Korean food. We did actually had an enormous Korean lunch one day and we also went to one of the best restaurants in town but still...
Leisure facilities are good. There's a swimming pool and, if I'm not mistaking, a fitness.
All in all, the Grand Ambassodor is a lovely businesshotel.
Stayed at the Grand Ambassador Seoul, Korea from Jan 26-29. This hotel is very near the shopping area of Seoul. The room was modern and well appointed. It offered a pillow menu for extra comfortable sleep. The bathroom had Roger Gallet shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion. No toothbrush, toothpaste & razor, though. But there is a 7/11 store right beside the hotel just in case. The heated toilet seat was such a comfort in the middle of winter (5*F). The Buffet breakfast was the best! It had several food stations serving different kinds of cuisine. The hotel staff were very friendly and spoke good English. I highly recommend this hotel!
