I stay regularly at the "Chosun" as it's called locally, and since the Lobby and lower floors were remodeled last year, most of my stays are pleasant enough. Yet though they consider themselves to be among Seoul's Five Star Hotels, the lack of reasonable flexibility of their staff is most disappointing. I regularly stay on the club floor, and I am a Starwood Gold Member. I arrived ten minutes after the 10:00 AM closing of the morning breakfast this morning and was told that both in the Club Lounge (included in my rate), and in the LL restaurant, "breakfast was over.". In neither place was I even offered an alternative; not even room service, which I finally took back in my room. At the Lotte Seoul, where I also stay regularly, the staff would have acted quickly to take care of me. That's Five Star Service, and the lack of it at the Chosun is evident. Employees there, while always pleasant and professional, apparently lack the empowerment to please a regular customer. It's why I'll always go to the Lotte Seoul when it's available.

I was quite impressed with Westin Chosun during our first stay there few years ago, that's why we went back again. Our second stay was also a pleasant one - friendly & polite staff, helpful concierge, great location. However, despite the newly renovated public areas, this hotel obviously pales when comparing to the modern & luxurious 5-star hotels all over Asia. We got a very good rate this time, so I assumed we had the most "standard" room. Our room was decent, though a bit tired & small. I was slightly turned off when I saw stains on the carpet and the sofa when I entered the room. The hotel was undergoing renovation on the 9th floor during our stay and our room was on the 10th. We heard drilling noises but didn't bother us too much since we were out during the day. Also, no free in-room Wifi but you can get some free Wifi in the hotel's public areas. This hotel is a nice choice if you get a good rate.

Nothing really to complain about in this hotel, it is good Westin standard, has a nice 25m pool that you can actually swim laps in, and the rooms are large, clean, quiet, and come with a Nespresso machine and two capsules per night. Much of Seoul, including night life, is in walking distance. A room with hardwood floor would have been neat, but forget about the upgrade unless you are willing to pay top KRW.

Not a cheap hotel but the location was perfect with a quick stopover in Seoul. We used the Korean Air Limo bus to transfer and it stops off at the hotel so was easy and cheap to get there. The Limo bus is very comfortable with big reclining seats by the way.

The hotel is as you might expect at the price it charges. Very well appointed in all public spaces as well as the rooms. Very well styled. Excellent staff (conceirge, porters and reception all good). Breakfast in the top floor business lounge was good but was expecting more.

The grill restaurant on the ground floor is excellent. Service and food quality very good.

The location is very good for shopping but also near some good tourist spots.

Good views from the high floors
