El Fishawy is a coffee shop located in the bazaar Khan El-Khalili. They serve cold & hot drinks as well as Shishas. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is really nice. They have beautiful old mirrors on the walls! The seating is a little crammed, but you can make it work. When we were there it was a nice mix of locals and foreigners. You can also bring your own food. So, instead of eating at a restaurant, you can pick up some delicious street food and eat at El Fishawy. Really nice!

This place had average service at best and the food was like low grade dog food. Nothing to special.

I'm sure that you can find both cheaper and/or better tasting coffee, tea or whatever to drink or smoke at other places BUT i doubt you can get together with this atmosphere. Don't misunderstand me: The drinks aren't expensive or bad tasting in anyway - everything is quite good but what makes this coffeeshop to a star are the atmopshere! The chaos of salesmen, market visitors, the odd decoration of the coffeeshop makes this a must when needing a break in your shopping in Khan el Khalili. If possible get a table in the street. There is a gents toilet (local style: squatting) across the alley and down to the left.

Sitting & drinking mint tea that is out of this world, in a wonderful ambiance. A great pick-me-up.
