Very good hotel.

The hotel is modern - and I like modern. But it didn't quite work f0r me.
The room was really, really hot - and I was told this was winter so the heat was on and there was no way to control it other than to open the window - and they recommended this was not left open (there was a balcony or something all the way round the hotel where my room was).
The design was "funky" but I would in some ways prefer "functional". eg a room that wasn't heated to around 80 F overnight. Everything else worked pretty well and the staff were friendly and helpful. I was only there for one night so didn't get to explore the neighbourhood.
I have previously stayed at the Peninsula in Beijing and this was a real let down - I would rate the Hotel G over the Peninsula any day - but if you chose the G don't expect the full international hotel offering in terms of food and room service etc.
Very "chique" and cool looking hotel. Reminds me hotels like the W or the Vie in Bangkok. Would not recommend this for tourist as it can be out of the way to the major spots like Tiananmen, Wangfujing but great for those looking for a change in scenery. Plenty of good restaurants and bars close by and within walking distance.
A little out of the way but it was the perfect spot for my husband and I to recover after two days of continuous flights. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a boutique hotel experience in Beijing.
This hotel is definitely boutique with its own unique style. The rooms are huge, quiet and very comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. They arranged train tickets for us before we even arrived in China.
Everything is included in the price, breakfast, internet, local phone calls.
The location is ok, 10 - 15 minute walk to the train station which is difficult to find. We managed to find the hotel when we got off the train but couldn't find the station when walking there from the hotel. Maybe that was just us though! Taxi's and rickshaws are everywhere and cheap though so no problem. Take the hotel card with you as it has the address and map to show the drivers.
The only downside was they were very busy when we were there and couldn't accommodate our late check out request. They were happy to keep our bags in the luggage room though, and we were able to go out as well as spend some time waiting in the lobby and using the WiFi.
Overall a very nice stay.
