“Apartment Living Best Option for Families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

If you can afford to, stay in the apartments at the St. Regis Beijing. The unit I stayed with my daughter when visiting my son was just wonderful and spacious for Beijing. It has a kitchenette with a washer and dryer. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a spacious living room and foyer. It also comes with our own butler. Definitely worth it if you're staying for a long period of time.

“5 Star Boring!!”

Okay..beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean, attentive if distant service but noting that sets it apart from every other 5 star western hotel in Beijing. The location is a bit isolated and not much to do anywhere near it and they really need to deal with the HVAC system. The meeting rooms were so hot people literally were feeling faint and had top leave the meetings. When complaints were made there were lots of smiles but no heat relief. Again, lovely suites and rooms but no vibe or special quality to this hotel. I prefer the Grand hyatt in Beijing..same 5 star level but a real buzzabout it with excellent dining and shopping virtually next door and only clocks away from the forbidden city...Its not bad..its just not special

Room Tip: all good all the same

“Among the best service I've ever received.”

It's not easy to pick a "central" location in Beijing as it is no longer much of a city for walking, but the St. Regis Beijing is in a good spot. There are a couple of high-end malls within an easy walk and a very nice park nearby ... it's in the embassy district so there are some attractive streets for a stroll. But the best part of the St. Regis Beijing is not the location, nor the hotel itself - although it's considered an "old hotel" by Beijing standards (what, 12 years old or so?) it's in excellent shape. No, the best part here is the service - unfailingly friendly, personal, pleasant, fast, and exactly correct. The folks at the concierge desk are always ready to help in any way. Room service was swift and delicious. I felt as if I'd stayed here before and the staff was welcoming me back. Definitely recommend.

Room Tip: A high floor is better, although the traffic noise here is not much of a problem.

“Wonderful Hotel, OK location”

I was there on business. It is a beautiful and very classy St Regis with the great service I have come to expect. The great restaurants make for an excellent stay. They provided a fantastic tour guide who covered T Square, Forbidden City and the Great Wall all in the one day I took off work and finished with a drop off at the airport. Will stay there again.

“An oasis in the turmoil.”

Beijing is not easy. It is definitely worth it to go for the Great Wall, Forbidden City and Tianneman Square . The St.Regis provides an oasis to head back to at the end of a stressful and long day.
