“Great hotel, nice staff, quick service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2012

Overall I rate this hotel perfect - only one little remark about service, but more to this later.

First the check in, staff was very friendly, arrived early in the morning, no problem to check in and to get a room already finished with service. Staff was also trying to get a room with nice view in the upper floors. The room itself was very clean, I always appreciate clean bath and floor, everything was perfect.

The breakfast was very good a lot of choices for everybody from continental to classic european to chinese and international, something for every taste.

Evening buffet also very tasteful though a little bit to expensive compared to the amount what you really eat at the end. So for me it was better And also easier to go by the menue, wich was also very excellent choice. Great choice of various wines also.

Check out was good, fast and everything ok on the receipt. Even the right billing adress from start, no corrections and discussions like sometimes neccessary at othernhotel check outs, were they spell the name wrong, don't get the adress of company properly inthe receipt etc.

One day I had a taxi taking me to various directions, quick stopover at the hotel and then I had to rush to another meeting in a different hotel, did not now the adress neither was able to tell it to the driver. I asked hotel reception if they can look up the adress of the other hotel, print it out and the tell the taxi driver were to got while I change my clothes in the room. Coming down to the lobby again, everything was set, the driver was informed in chinese and they handed me a printout. Thanx, good and reliable service.

Some things I did not like: somitems I like to take a cup of from the breakfast in the restaurant after breackfast to my room and continue working soe mails. Did so but everytime was asked to come back and they change the drink into a cup since thy did not want someone to take stuff out of the restaurant in their equipment.
What was a little bit anoying, watching a waitress during breakfast time, when she was cleaning somhow her nose or wiping something away (obviously she had a cold), and the afterwards continue with serving without cleaning hands.
Also whren i was getting myself dressed at the first morning right aft checkin, cleaning personal knocked at my door and came in since thy thought the room was not occied and then after seeing me asked if they can quickly do some cleaning. Sure no problem for me. What they actually did was putting a little spray of chenicals into the Drain in the shower and the drain in the little toilet room (two little seperated areas in the big bathroom). That was against the animals they said, what caused a little smile on my side asking what animals, tigers? Thy didn't understand but said something about bugs....for sure a procedure in every hotel, to prevent something creeping through the drain, but as customer you don't really want to know about that...

Anyway, a great stay and i returned after a trip to another city after two days again to the hotel. Stay was again nice. All in all a recommendation. Nice hotel.

“New, well-decorated, and a little bit too serious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

It's location is nice, with several free parking spots if you are lucky to find one.
The general scheme of the decoration is a little dark and serious. But the room is very spacious and well-equiped, with a humidifier.
The only thing I wasn't so thrilled is the fact that frontdesk staff is constantly immerged in business travellers, thus showing less attention to leisure travellers.

“Warm, cousy and professional”

Stayed for 3 nights and, frankly, would love to stay a couple of nights more. The service was great - all staff was very attending, polite and was really trying to serve you at best. The language was an issue sometimes, had to use a simplier terms and orders :) The most two best features about this hotel are: 1 - Steack Exchange restaurant with really good stakes (5 out of 5) and original white and dark chocolate dessert-surprise and 2 - Health Club and spa, with all new equipment, good-sized pool and saunas (makes best sense when its cold outside). Very recommend!

Room Tip: Some of the rooms face the street. If you want quiet room - ask for opposite side of the road.

I stayed 4 days beginning go December 2011.
Good room, (although the ones on the main street are a bit noisy)
Rooms are big, the service is great.
They have a really amazing chocolate desert in the steak restaurant.. It's my 3rd visit to this hotel. I would come back again for the desert alone.

Dear jenesaispasqui,

It is always great to receive feedback from valued return guests and read with interest how delighted you were with your 4 nights stay with us. We try to make every effort to provide the best possible service. Your positive comments mean that we are heading in the right direction.

You can have a good view through the large windows overlook the famed Financial Street or the essential Hutong area of Old Beijing by different rooms. Sometimes in the peak time, low-floor rooms facing 2nd Ring Road may a bit noisy, but for the rest of the time, it usually peaceful and quiet since there is a street garden with plenty of flowers and plants between the main road and our hotel.

As you stated, Steak Exchange Restaurant & Bar is renowned as a haven for meat lovers, with prime cuts of the finest 250-day aged Australia Angus Beef charcoal grilled in an open kitchen and our famous and creative desert “White & Dark Chocolate Top Surprise”. We do hope that on your next return trip, you will explore more delicious food in our hotel.

Sincerely

“Beijing Business Trip in November”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

The Hotel is well situated being virtually on the ring road and just a short walk from Fuchengmen Bridge subway station making the hotel convenient for business users and tourists. The subway is the blue circle line which takes travellers near to Tianaman Square and the Forbidden City and if travelling light (subway trains typically very congested particularly at peak times) offers an interchange station to the Beijing airport line. The bedrooms are spacious featuring very comfortable beds and the bathrooms offer a choice of large bath or walk in shower. The hotel offers a swimming pool and gym which I used.
Staff are attentive but language can be a problem as found an "out of date" item in mini bar and when asked for item to be removed was replaced with a further out of date item. However restaurant for both breakfast and dinner offered a good choice and food was of a high standard. First used the Intercontinental Hotel four years earlier and if I return to Beijing again would certainly consider the Intercontinental again.
