My fiancée and I had just arrived in Hong Kong for the first time after spending a week in Harbin, China where we got engaged. We stayed at the Shangri-La in Harbin, so we were coming from a high service standard and tailored comforts when we got to Hotel Icon. Our car from Hotel Icon, picked us up from the airport, the car had Fiji waters and WiFi, which although we didn't use it, it was impressive. Our arrival at the hotel was a bit underwhelming only because our suitcases that we carefully packed for our year trip around the world had been lost on the way to Hong Kong. We were sad beyond belief that it could have happened so quickly on our second leg of a very long trip. We were greeted at Hotel icon by guest relations person Raymond. We explained our situation as he showed us around our incredible suite. Raymond assured us that his staff would find our bags and deliver them to our note room, we were weary but he was extremely confident. The lounge on the top floor was wonderful, our room came with cocktail and tea service up there every night, which was well worth the extra money, the view was foggy but an excellent location looking on from Kowloon to Hong Kong (I thought it was better than the reverse) We were extremely impressed as we went to breakfast the next morning (in our same old clothes from the day before)concierge told us our bags had arrived (yay!) and they would have delivered them earlier (it was 10am) but they didn't want to wake us up (very considerate) We didn't' have to lift a finger from there on out, concierge service was so wonderful, Raymond was so helpful, every time we saw him he would greet us by name and chat with us and smile, his english was excellent. he helped us find a jeweler to get my new engagement ring sized, the concierge desk scheduled a hair appointment for me at an excellent hair salon in Kowloon. Every night we went for cocktails up stairs we chatted with some new couple and shared travel stories. The breakfast buffet downstairs was fantastic, fresh and had a wide variety of food. Hotel Icon provides a bus that takes you around town to various stops in Kowloon, it was always available for us to use (we never had to wait) and comfortable. Raymond sent us a bottle of wine to our room to congratulate us on our engagement (this was very nice of him)
The room itself was very posh, very big and had such an incredible view with floor to ceiling windows half way around the room.
I can't say enough about Hotel Icon being such a professional and fun experience.
