Stayed there from 13 to 15 Jan. Pleasant small budget hotel. Toilet and bed are clean. Setback is that Wifi is very slow. Other than that is ok. It is best to have the room assign against the busy road.

The big defect of this hotel is that none of the rooms have windows you can open. They are designed that way. This is unpleasant and unhealthy, also a little idiotic. Don't Fave understand that people want fresh air occasionally, especially in the cool of the morning? Without a window you can open, guests feel imprisoned, suffocated. You are breathing in stagnant air all the time. We had to keep the room door open, then open the window in the corridor, just to get some air.
Fave says it offers 'fast WiFi'. This is a false claim. The WiFi works only in the lobby. Disappointing and annoying. The hotel should not promise what it cannot deliver.
Aircon in the room not cold. Maintenance man (very polite and cheerful) had to be summoned to remove dust from the filter.
Room and bathroom clean. This is pleasing. But blockage in sink.
Breakfast poor. Lukewarm coffee. Only offering is fried rice and fried noodles. You have to pay extra for orange juice. If you want any kind of egg, that is also extra. Ridiculous that you have to pay extra for things that are basic to any proper breakfast.
Useful 'K' convenience store attached to the building.
The staff, though courteous, were not well trained. Took us half an hour to process our check-out.
Fave hotel is located in Wahid Hasyim. It's centrally located between Tanah Abang and Thamrin. Jakarta CBD is easily accessed from this hotel. There's also many interesting spot for tourist to visit nearby, such as National Monument and Grand Indonesia.
The staffs are nice, helpful and working efficiently. The check in process was quick. I even get an early check in! The room was small but ergonomic. I still able to doing 'muslim pray' easily. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is compact but have all of the essential utilities. The shower has a hot water with good pressure. On a price of $40, I didn't expecting more. But, I got a breakfast! The breakfast is good compared with other budget hotels. They have a egg station too!
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Fave Hotel Wahid Hasyim. I highly recommend this hotel to traveler who planning to stay in Jakarta downtown on a budget
Travelling to Jakarta on a budget? With Fave Hotel, there's no compromising on comfort and location at incredibly affordable room rates. The fairly new establishment is located within walking distance from the Sarinah mall and is just off the main Thamrin thoroughfare. It's hard to miss the hotel with it's bright pink/purple facade on a side street with really nothing much else. I stayed here for a couple of days and found it comfortable, great value for money, and centrally located.
On entering the hotel, you come right up to the reception. A cafe/restaurant is on the left and the sole elevator right up-front. As with many other budget establishments, space is a premium so don't expect huge hallways and crystal chandeliers. Service is good though if not too pro-active.
The Room
The room wasn't as small as I thought it would be. There's more than ample space for luggage and the creature comforts were nice. The bed is very comfortable with good linens - really important this. There's a flat-screen TV with a decent selection of channels, an in-room safe, and a small desk. And of course, free WiFi though connection was erratic. On the first day it was speedy but on the second day, it barely worked. Not sure which is the norm. Air-conditioning is privately controlled from a unit in the room - no central air.
One of the nicest budget hotel rooms I've been in. Hands-down more affordable than Ibis and so much better decked out than the Hotel 81's of Singapore (cheaper too).
The smart efficient design extends to the bathroom too which although compact, isn't cramped. I wished the water pressure was a wee bit stronger though and I would have preferred warmer water. The shower temperature doesn't get very high. No teeny bottles of soap and shampoo here - everything's provided in the dispensers.
Gotri Cafe/Restaurant
My room package did not include breakfast but I did eat at the only cafe in the hotel for dinner one night. The cafe, called Gotri, has a decent range of Indonesian and Western eats at prices proportionate to the room rates - i.e. fairly cheap. Though cheap is relative as you can get the same fare for cheaper outside but definitely not at a hotel. I will say the food is priced similar to what you can find in food courts at a good mall.
The food is just average though - eatable but really nothing to shout about.
Miscellaneous
In case it isn't obvious, there's no pool or gym in the hotel and parking seems quite limited. But as it's within walking distance from Sarinah (the closest), Plaza Indonesia, and Grand Indonesia, you can get your workout by walking to the shopping malls around the area. Food is easy to find too so no need to commit yourself to the hotel cafe. A plus is the availability of a convenience store located just by the main entrance and if you're looking for a spa/massage, there's a swanky establishment just beside.
PLUS:
Good central location with easy access to food and shopping.
Great value! Paid about USD35 a night.
Comfortable bed.
MINUS:
Hotel is on quite a dark and busy street, not sure how safe it is at night.
Area is a bit noisy - woken up a few times by prayers from a mosque behind the hotel.
WiFi is a bit erratic.
location in hearth of jakarta, only five minutes by walk to/from pasar tanah abang-biggest textile market in south east asia, and jalan sudirman the skycrapper road in jakarta.
Room very clean,new,and fresh.minimalis style.
Price very cheap for jakarta standart, only USD 44.
Simple breakfast, only two choice, bread or rice with one topping.drink only tea or coffee. No worry, because near with mc d,kfc and hoka hoka bento (sarinah shopping center).
