I keep coming back to this hotel because the service is just excellent.
Whenever you have a wish the staff is helping and assisting you.
For example I wanted to have a small lunch but the Restaurant Satoo tends to be noisy because it is a buffet. No problem, seat at the cafe next to it and order from the Satoo Menu.

The horizon club has been renewed last year and it is really beautiful. Everyday you have live piano music at cocktail hours. Nice selection of food at breakfast and cocktail hour.

Generally the restaurants at Shangri-La offer a very high quality of food, especially the Japanese.
The Japanese restaurant has a Teppanyaki area a sushi counter and normal seated area.
Huge selection on the menu.
Business Lunch available as well.

Stayed over at the Shangri-la for 3 nights during a business trip. Very conveniently located for me as I needed to head over to Wisma BNI quite often and it is only a walk away. My corporate rate does not include breakfast, which to me is quite surprising considering that the rates are rather pricey.

Very posh hotel with great facilities. Gym is well-equipped and for those interested, the bar below (B.A.T.S.) is a "meat market" for the visitors looking for companionship or to have a good time.

The Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta is excellent, I would add another half star if I could. My second stay here and the experience is just as good. Well-maintained and posh facilities, worthy of its reputation, with spacious, luxurious hotel rooms. My only quibble would be that the bathrooms are a little dated and my shower head didn't work that well, but the brilliant housekeeping service more than made up for it. Service is good on every front, both for a leisure trip or a business event. The location is ideal (although traffic isn't!) and the restaurants are all very good. Would definitely recommened the hotel and would be glad to return.

Stayed at the Shangri-La twice during a two week visit to Java. We stayed on the executive level floors, and had great service, personal attention, and access to the lovely breakfasts and afternoon tea and cocktails (when we weren't working). What made the stay so pleasant was that even though the hotel is big and serves all sorts of clients - from groups to single business travelers (and wedding parties, too!), the staff knew us by name, greeted us warmly, etc. The Business Center was excellent, and we availed ourselves often of their services. I highly recommend this hotel as an oasis from the chaotic traffic of Jakarta! Also, my favorite thing was to wake early and get to the absolutely gorgeous pool that was serene and a perfect start to the day. There were few glitches, nothing to really get in a tiff about.
