Rudy Maulana was polite, but I was asked to write a review on Trip Advisor. I think he was trained to do that. He was very polite, but he practically cornered me into writing a good review for the hotel. His friend Sahid was also in the room.
Generally, the staff here is polite. I especially liked one of the waitresses in Mezza. (Too bad I missed her name. She was genuinely helpful and pleasant. THe receptionist if MEzza was a total [--].)
SInce I was cornered, I am writing a review, but definitely not a scintillating one.
WHile Rudy and Sahid were OK, the hotel was horrible. There was no wi-fi in the rooms, and only one cable connection was available. This is meaningless for users like me who work on mobile devices (iPad, Blackberry).
THe breakfast buffet selection was sad and tragic. There was no designated smoking area, so I had to inhale second hand smoke while I was drinking my morning coffee.
Wi-fi is available at the ground floor lobby, but the staff continually refused to give me the username and password. (I do not understand this; I have no reason to steal anything from their wi-fi.) Since their wi-fi connection was wonky, I had to ask the staff to enter the username and password every twenty minutes.
THe Wi-fi was not available when I worked around 11.00PM last night.
The unit was nice, anyway. The living space was clean, and so were the rooms. In terms of cleanliness, this hotel meets my standards.
The bathroom is a bit tight. I am pretty average in my built, but I had to step out of the shower to soap my body up.
The place could use brighter lights. Warm lights are lovely until one is not sure if he/she put on too much blush.
Why is there a shortage of towels?
THe gym was closed the entire time I was here.
All in all, I am NEVER coming back to this hotel. I should have trusted my instincts and should have gone to the better recommended hotels in Jakarta.
