“Surprisingly Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

The Amaris hotel is modern and chic hotel, and probably segmented to middle or budget class, similar to Aloft by Starwood or All Seasons by Accor. I was visiting Jogjakarta en route to Klaten in order to attend my friend's wedding so I wasn't too picky on that time in choosing my accommodation. I stayed two nights at Amaris Diponegoro and I must say that it's surprisingly good !!!

The receptions, Ms. Rima and Mr. Robby (or Robi ??) are friendly and helpful, including giving me directions where to go. The housekeeping staff also helpful and quickly responding my request when I have problem with the air conditioner. The room is somewhat smaller than other hotels but the design is beautiful. The matress is also good, probably using the same vendor that usually provided to Santika. The breakfast is limited but still acceptable, considering the price that I paid. Overall, it's a pleasant stay and value for the money.

“Nice budget hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

since we arrived at night and leaving early in the morning i decided to stay someplace cheap. its a budget hotel, professionally managed by a local chain. since its newly open i expect the rooms are still good. it was good and the breakfast was more than i expected from a budget hotel. however, its quite far from the Malioboro & taking the becak cost Rp. 20,000

“Neat little place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2011

Check in was fuss free. we were given options like smoking or non smoking floor, twin or shared bed. The room is rather compact, n bathroom even more so. First time I've stayed in a room where the wash basin is actually in the room n not in the bathroom so it's a little inconvenient. Also wished they had done a better job of cleaning the bathroom scum ( so what's new )
There's a safe deposit box in the room but instructions were totally unclear, even when the staff came to help as he didn't speak english n my bahasa is not too good.
Also, I couldn't make an international phone call via the operator.
There's a hot / cool water dispenser at each floor although free bottled water is provided daily.
B'fast is simple but adequate n served from 6 to 10 am at the dining area.
That said, the bed was wonderfully comfortable, sheets clean and fresh. The staff were always helpful and friendly. The male receptionist even crossed over to the b'fast area and made us omelettes when we came down at 4am to make the sunrise trip to borobudur as b'fast spread wasn't out yet.
The hotel has been in operation for only a year, so it still looks new n clean.

“Hotel Amaris Yogyakarta”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2011

I stayed in this hotel for 2 night with my friend. The hotel had minimalis design, everything was just adequate. One good thing was that I could book online with my credit card. Check-in was easy and the staffs were helpful and polite. Internet was provided free.
