This hotel is very well situated as is only a stone throw away from the airport and from the temples. That said, it is very tired so could do with a major overhaul! The construction standards are quite dated so the bedroom walls and windows are very thin so noise travels through them very easily. This is not good when your neighbors are watching football noisily at 6am once they have been woken up by the very loud mosque!

Though it is a pretty old hotel with very rustic looking rooms and pretty old fixtures the hotel is located at a fantastic location just at the foot of an active volcano. The lobby is beautiful and the staff extremely friendly. The pool is just awesome. I wish the Spa with its steam room and Jacuzzi etc closes at 8.00 pm which is quite early for someone on a holiday. The food quality also could be better . For a Sheraton property I would have expected much better .The staff in the restaurants were a complete contrast to those at the lobby ,they could well do with some training how to take orders and attend to guests.

I stay at the sheraton to celebrate New Year's Eve for three days. I have reservations starting in October 2011 with hope when I come already prepared all. arrived at Yogyakarta airport I had to wait pick up from the sheraton more than 30 minutes. I have contacted the sheraton but an hour before my plane left even more distance between the hotel and the airport only 10 minutes (including jam). arrived at the hotel I had to wait almost an hour to get a room that has been my message in October 2011.
My room can be located on the 6th floor has a direct view to the outdoor pool which is a miniature of the garden sari (private pool ancient king of Mataram). unfortunately I the room is not equipped with an ironing board that should be part of room facilities.
breakfast at the bistro androwino very complete and enjoyable. a variety of cuisines to traditional western Indonesia is always available. but will have to come early to get a seat. is because the restaurant is only able to accommodate guests sekitar100.
overall I can understand the busy staff of the hotel as a high occupancy rate, but this is very disappointing considering the big names sheraton.

I had a wonderful stay with my wife & it was our second honeymoon over there! The staffs are Superbly Pleasant, The Setting of the place gives you thousand of inspiration for the artistic ones, the architecture of the hotel is very authentic for all types of photography purpose, the accessibility of the hotel to all local tourist spots is very easy and lastly, love the serene-peaceful view from the hotel VERY much !!!
