This hotel was recommended to me and I stayed there for 11 nights on my first trip to Yogyakarta. I can highly recommend the hotel, particularly if you're a female travelling alone. The hotel is locally owned, so it has a local flavour that sets it apart from the big international chains. It's luxurious, sparkling clean, and the staff are really first rate. My understanding is that it is a major Indonesian conference venue, so you won't find the usual range of tourist shops and other services aiming to separate you from your money! That having been said, the staff were more than happy to help me with information about local things, the doormen were always happy to get a taxi when it was needed and there's a very good travel agent in the lobby area. You don't have to worry about clothes coming back 5 sizes smaller from the laundry - the laundry service is exceptional. I stayed in a poolside access room which was very pleasant as I had an external door with a couple of chairs and a table just outside it - lovely for reading a book for a quiet hour in the early morning. My room also had good WiFi access which was free. The pool is huge and well maintained. Local friends tell me the gym is very good, but I didn't use it. If you're looking for a place that's quiet and efficient, this is it.
I will definitely stay there again.

We stayed in the Jogjakarta Plaza in the second week of October 2011, when on a leisure trip to Jogjakarta. If you have a vehicle, the hotel is not too far from the airport.
The rooms were big. We wanted a double bed, but had to settle for twin bed, but it was nice.
The AC was good, with a comfortable temperature maintained. It was not noisy and we caught nice sleep. There was a TV in the room, but we did not get time to watch anything. There was no free WiFi.
The room had a mini bar and snacks, chargeable on as use basis.
W bottle of water and Tea coffee was complimentary
The bathrooms were spacious, but the ceramics looked a bit old, as if in need of renovation. Cleanliness was good.
We as indians wished to have Indian food, and this one is located about 3 km from the hotel COlonial Cuisine.
The breakfast was the ususal, cereal, breads, egg, juices, tropical fruit etc. I liked the cakes. I could not try any local varieties, as being vegetarians we did not have much choice.
Overall, i feel it is a good value for money for a 2-3 days holiday

Stay in this hotel is feels like at home...
Nice place and very strategic place.

Set by a lovely poolside, this hotel has a magnificate lobby with wood cavings and acres of marble. The rooms are a good size with shower above bath. Good location to university and a short drive to shopping.

We enjoyed walking the local area and sampling the more traditional areas.

The staff were wonderful and helpfully. A great stay.
