Originally booked Junior Suite, however due to the Air-conditioning problem, they said they could upgrade us to Executive Suite. But they are building a lift just next to the building where the Executive Suites are located. So, at the end we were upgraded to Casita Suite G/F Room!!
The Room is very big, even suits for a family, since they has 1 king size bed and 2 single beds. Also has a room for the make-up table and wardrobe. Washroom is very big as well! Has a shower area, jacuzzi and 2 mirror+sink!
They do not have a Landline phone in the room, so each room would be provided with a mobile which they have preset some numbers that you can dial to Front Desk, House Keeping and Restaurant. I was told we can press the preset number outside the hotel to call for shuttle service, however it failed and at the end we need to walk back to hotel and get a tricycle.
Sometimes there maybe not enough staff in the Front Desk. On the day I check out, I tried to call 4 times consecutively for assistance on moving the luggage, but there was no answer. It turned up that we just catch up the staff at the door for assistance.
Shuttle service is another thing I would like to blame. They claim that free shuttle service to d'mall / d'talipapa will be provided until 10pm. And the following is my experience:
I called the Front Desk at 6pm for free shuttle to d'mall, and the staff told me they will check the availability and call me back. Then, after 15 mins, I still did not receive any calls, so I called back, the ans from another staff was that: Our driver just left because he feels sick, so the service will not be available tonight, and you will have to pay for your own tricycle fee to d'mall. I was like "What? I was waiting for your call, and then you tell me the driver left while I am waiting for your reply? I should have the right to enjoy the free shuttle to d'mall until 10 pm, but I have to pay for my tricycle fee? Is this what you will expect from a 5 star hotel?"
What the staff kept saying is that the service is based on availability, so now the service is not available and there is nothing they can do. What I mean is, can't the hotel just pay the tricycle fee for us, then everything will be settled! It's just 50peso, and I believe for the locals to get the tricycle, the price must be much cheaper, can't a 5 star hotel just be responsible for such cost and let their customer enjoy the free service?
I wanted to speak to their supervisor, and she was off duty at the time. After waiting for a while, the staff said he just called the driver and he will come back and drive us to d'mall. When I see the driver, he did not look sick at all, do you expect a sick person still can walk casually with a toothpick in his mouth?
I was totally disatisfied by such kind of service. I might to the Boracay, again, but I am not sure if I will stay in Ambassador again due to their service.
Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors will be better. Because when you stay on the Ground Floor, seems everyone...
