Stayed there for 2 nights on December. This is the typical place that once recommended by the Lonely Planet tries to maximize the profit without making any improvement to the structure.
Le location is in boat station 3, the quiet area of the island, where other budget options are also located:"Dave's straw" is just next door and, based on what I read, I think is a better option. Both are minutes from the beach.
They say that airport transfer is included: my flight was cancelled and redirected to Kalibo, but nobody waited for me there nor a the pier in Caticlan. I made a phone call and a guy picked me up at my arrival in Boracay but I had to pay the trycicle to get to the place. So what is included? Indipendent travellers usually to not need a guide to get to the place..
I was given a room on the ground floor and it was not a big deal. I agree with some review I read: the smell of mold in the room was really, really strong and I couldn't find a way to open the windows.Ok, it is a budget place, I didn't care about the old towel, but bed linen was stained and again everything in the room, also the pillows, smelled very badly.
I think that was the only place in Philippines where they charge you for using the wi-fi.
When I checked out I asked to pay with mastercard, as their website advertises, but I was told by the owner that I had to pay a 7% or 12% (I can't rember) commission so I chose to pay with cash. I give this place three stars only beacuse the staff was really friendly and, among other things helped me to rebook my flight.
