“Nice Resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

We booked a BMB package directly with the resort – manila office. The package inclusive of: 2 nights accommodation, Kalibo/Boracay/Kalibo (includes all the terminal fees) transfers, daily breakfast & one time consumable minibar.

The resort pre-arranged us to join the Kalibo/Caticlan tourist bus to Caticlan, upon arrived Caticlan, someone from the resort picked us up and escorted us with the resort's own boat and followed by their own pick-up to the resort.

The beverages and chips in the room are all free for us to drink/eat (total: 6 cans soft drink/ 2 bottles green tea/ 4 cans beer/ 2 bottles energy drink and 2 bottles drinking water) which were more than enough to last us for the whole trip.

We were quite disappointed with the beach as it was not as clean/white as describe in the internet.... the sands in station 2 is no longer white and the only beach that we visited that can fine white fine sands is located infront of Friday resort.

Overall, foods are cheap but shopping (for same products) cost more than triple than in Manila.

“Beautiful Hotel, Awful Staff/Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Stayed here for 4 nights in November while travelling around SE Asia with my boyfriend.

The hotel is fabulous and the grounds are tropically designed with an integrated infinity pool (that could do with a few more loungers). The hallways to the rooms are all open so you get a lovely breeze. The rooms are newly refurbished, spacious and very comfortable and have a balcony. The beds are quite hard and a pretty uncomfortable though! Fresh toiletries in the bathroom, hairdryer, safe, tv (with limited channels), dressing table, large wardrobe.

The staff are awful. In particular the reception staff who I found to be so lazy, disinterested and slow. The only staff that were good were the bell boys who helped us carry our bags. Check in was very long, we didn't receive our wake up call (no apology), check out was even longer despite having prepaid and anytime we had asked for anything we either didn't get it or had to wait for ages. Be very careful not to damage anything as you can be sure you will be charged! This includes the bed sheets - if they are overly dirty or if you have gotten a Henna tattoo you will be charged. I dropped a glass into a sink and was made pay 100PHP on checkout even though we were inches from missing our flight because of reception.

The hotel is about a 5-10min walk from Boat Station 3 along a quiet street, there usually trikes around if you get tired. Its very safe to walk at night as the Police station is along that street, just don't walk alone.

While I really liked the hotel grounds, the staff really dampened the stay and I will not be returning as a result. I would recommend any of the other hotels and they are all beautiful hotels and the service will set them apart, and I don't think this hotel was particularly good value.

Few tips for Boracay - have cash for the numerous and expensive "Terminal Fees" and the trikes when you get off the ferry as the taxi's are about 300PHP. Dont get stung by the trikes keeping in mind the guide price for them is 10PHP per boat station travelled on the island. And remember to bargain, you can get the same thing half as cheap always!
Boracay is amazing, so have a blast!

Happy Travels :)

Room Tip: Pool view room or a room away from Boracay main road as its very noisy.

“splendid resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

The hotel is clean, comfortable, and has friendly helpful staff. This resort is far away from the beach and you wouldn't know it once inside the property. The buildings, pool and grounds were well maintained. I stayed in one of the smaller rooms with my uncle while my parents decided to seek relaxation in one of the cabanas. There is also massage service however, you can do massage room service and it was a terrific first time experience. The meals are delicious and very reasonably priced. If you have made reservations for the hotel's shuttle service to pick you up from the airport in Caticlan, make sure you call the hotel the day before you arrive to remind them. The access road to the beach is unlit at night. Be prepared to dodge motorized tricycles, bicycles and vans. Women can walk along this road at night but just be careful.

Room Tip: To make your vacation worthwhile, I suggest you choose the cabanas especially since there is a hammo...

“Shangri-La in the tropics”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

The spacious boudoir chosen by Kuoni/Blue Horizons had its own exotic private verandah overlooking a swimming pool and idyllic tropical flora, It was well back from the busy street which never disturbed my equanimity.
Ample victuals, incl T, coffee, decaff - but check that all on display is actually complementary as U cannot assume!
As always in SE Asia, the staff are mostly delightful.

The buffet breakfast was plentiful but not entirely to my taste but had no problem having specially made steamed rice and ampleadobe chicken.
I found Boracay itself a bit tame - the girls in bikinis, not topless - and my sea front massage a poor shiatsu full-body with no 'specials' on offer.
The best hotel I've had so far but bit pricey given Pinoy rentals as a whole!

Room Tip: Higher room and away from the street
