“Serene location”

Travelled as a family with kids aged 10 and 8. Stayed in a deluxe room with king bed and rollaway. Booked late so was unable to get family room. Room was fine but recommend book family room as room gets crowded Hotel in a beautiful location with lots of greenery surrounding the hotel. The hotel has a pool and kids enjoyed it but there is no kids club and no kids pool or really anything for the kids to do. There was a water park near by but it was being renovated. Signs said the park was due to open end 2011. If this had been opened, it would have been perfect for the kids. If you want to stay close to the hustle and bustle of sentosa then this is not the hotel to stay. The staff were all very curtious. We had breakfast Included which I would recommend. Breakfast was excellent with loads of choices. We ate at the Pavillion a few times which is the cheapest of all the restaurants but it is still expensive. If you see ++ next to a price this means that you need to add 7% gst and 10% service charge. I would recommend jumping on the free shuttle bus to Vivo City ( shopping complex) as there are plenty of places to eat. The free yellow line bus stops in front of the hotel and takes you into sentosa and here you will also find a few eating spots including McDonalds. We bought the Sentosa day play pass which entitles you to 15 attractions between 10am and 7pm. Kids loved the luge ride, going on the segway, and the 4D Pirate show. This pass cost us approx SD 243.00 but we only managed to do 7 attractions. It was a public holiday during Chinese New Year and Sentosa was very very crowded. We all enjoyed the Songs of the Sea show. Would recommend Universal Studios but if it's busy buy the express pass ( separate rides line with few people in the line) as we were waiting in line for rides between 30-50 minutes and therefore didn't get to see all the attractions. Singapore zoo was excellent. Best zoo we have seen. You can feed the elephants for $5 after the elephant show and you can also ride on the elephants. There is also a water park in the zoo so bring the kids bathers. There is a free shuttle bus from the hotel to Paragon shopping centre on Orchard Rd. Every designer label imaginable Is on Orchard Rd. I found orchard road expensive so if you are looking for bargains you won't find it here. Went on the Singapore flyer which was excellent. Cab ride approx $10.

Room Tip: Book family room if traveling with kids

“luxury with great landscaping”

First sentosa is a very beautiful island , the hotel is really luxury and surrounded by large area of landscaping and green area , the swimming pool is excellent, the rooms are beautiful, it is very interesting just to walk from the reception to your room, the only things I don't like is there restaurants, which is extremely expensive with out a good quality match the price , maybe the location is an issue, because you have to take the bus to reach the surrounding activities , If you are planning to relax and not to leave the hotel too much it will be good chose , other wise it will be an expensive hotel

Attended a conference here staying for 7 days. Superb in every way, great business and holiday hotel. Located on the island of Sentosa, next to the beach , close to Sentosa resort park and golf club. Idyllic location , peaceful and tranquil and very convenient for Singapore being a short taxi ride away.Suitable for all types of traveller and family friendly.Food is excellent as is the service from the very helpful staff.

“family hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Great hotel for families particularly with younger children as two small water slides and little water play area, kids club great but although caters for up to 12yr old not really much on offer for them. In saying that the lifeguard came and got my two boys aged 11 and 8 and played water polo with them for a while and introduced them to other children so staff very friendly. Hotel food and drinks expensive but actual resort great as tram takes you along beachfront to the train which is 2 quick stops to Universal Studies. kids also loved going on the cable car and luge rides that are on offer further down the resort. Only other major problem is unable to offer family room so have to pay for 2 rooms, which have a connecting door, but obviously this puts the price of the stay up.

“A total dissapointment!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

In fact it could have been the best hotel on Sentosa due to the vast grounds, colonial style architecture, koi-ponds and the general relaxed atmoshere. However, we booked one week, but moved out after one night! The room was very tired with chipped furniture and stale awful smell, the TV was not working properly (no HBO channel!), the beds were uncomfortable (too stiff), but the most unbearable thing was a constant buzzing sound. We were shown a couple of other rooms, but it was the same. The dinner menu of the local restaurants was not inviting, so we didn't go. The breakfast was fine, but the pillows on the chairs should have been dry-cleaned long ago. To get to the beach you have to climb down an impressive curving staircase. I happened to notice the lack of any activities for kids. Someone mentioned that this hotel is popular among holiday makers from China, however at the time of our brief stay 60 rooms out of 200 were occupied by tourists from Russia.
