“Good for budget traveler”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

The room is clean and new although the room is very small. If you have tight budget, this is a very good choice in Singapore. The near by MRT station is a little bit far (300 meter?) but good for an easy walk. The wet market (traditional market) is near by. The food court has a wide variety of Singapore street food. The problem is that my friend and taxi drive have hard time to find the hotel.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for your feedback.

We are sorry to hear that you found our room small. All our rooms are at least 26 sqm in size. Should we have the opportunity to be of service to you again, we’d recommend the Soak Room (40 sqm) or the Deep Suite (47 sqm).

In November 2011, we embarked on a marketing campaign for taxi drivers to be familiarised with the hotel’s location. We will continue to create awareness among the taxi drivers.

We are delighted to hear that you managed to explore the hotel’s surroundings.

We look forward to welcoming you back to WANGZ Hotel.

“warm cozy quilts and pillows”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

You won't want to get out of bed - the quilt is so soft and comfortable. The room is stylish, not large but adequate for 2. The bathroom has a very sleek look and molton brown toiletries. The location, we thought, was wonderful - near Chinatown, and right next door to a dim sum shop with awesome pork buns. The ride into center of Singapore is not long. The included breakfast was good but nothing spectacular - better to grab some Chinese food next door. The one thing to keep in mind in Singapore - it rains and rains a lot. And although taxis are plentiful, when it is raining, could take an hour or two to find one. Memorize the taxi number from the outside of one and call - much easier than flagging one down. The hotel staff is very helpful and will call taxi for you.
Restaurant Tip : No Name Signboard seafood restaurant - known for their white pepper chili crab. Food was excellent. Not inexpensive but worth it. They have several locations. The one closest to hotel was Vivocity Mall.

“Tucked in a quaint neighbourhood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

people found this review helpful

It was my first staycation at Wangz Hotel. I enjoyed the friendly service at the reception. SImon made it a point to find out more about myself. He also provided dinner options which was much appreciated.

Room wise, it's cosy enough for 1 or 2 persons. I was on the 6th floor so I had a magnificent view of Tiong Bahru, one of Singapore's quaint neighbourhoods. Since it was a personal staycation, I thoroughly enjoyed reading by the window on the single chair and sipping my fave coffee.

You can find Molton Brown as part of the shower amenities. Some drinks are complimentary (apart from water). Breakfast selection is limited but it's probably due to the small number of rooms/guests as well. I had bread and pastries, cereal, fruits and coffee, which made my day anyway.

I checked out the rooftop bar on level 7. It has a panoramic view of the expressway and the Outram area. Quite lovely to wind down after a long day.

Across the road are some indie cafes that I always love. Forty Hands and Orange Thimble are two of my faves.

I wouldn't walk from the MRT as they're both quite a distance away. I took bus 63 from Tiong Bahru MRT (2 bus stops) and it stopped right in front of the hotel. Bus 33 goes there too. From the same bus stop, you have access to town as well. I saw signs of free shuttle to various tourist attractions from the hotel but didn't get to take it.

All in all, lovely place

“Excellent service & value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

Boutique hotel with a focus on service. Staff were very helpful and take a lot of pride in what they do.
Free wifi is a plus when other hotels in Singapore are charging $30-$40/day. Free mini bar is a nice touch too.
Not much directly surrounding but it is a central and convenient location with MRT in walking distance.
Good value. Happy to recommend.

“Modern, contemporary style”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

I've stayed at Wangz on a few occasions over the past 18 months.

I've always found the staff to be exceptional, in any capacity they have been needed in.

The hotel's arguably boutique. Every room I've ever stayed in has been stylish and modern. It may be too stark for the taste of some, but not for me.

Everything you need is provided. Nice complimentary toiletries. Internet available. Safe. Robes. Flat screen TV. DVD's available from reception.

You should probably keep in mind that you need to close the blinds in the room at night, unless you like scaring the people outside...

I believe there's a small gym downstairs too, but I did not use it.

Breakfast was ok. Singapore is a food mecca anyway, so go and explore. One of the best steamed bun shops in the city is right next door too, and there's several seafood restaurants within a 3 minute walk.

Bus stop outside. Or grab a taxi if you'd prefer. The underground is around a 15 minute walk away.

The location's not perfect for most tourists, but Singapore's easy enough and small enough to get around wherever you end up staying. A 10 minute SGD$10 taxi ride may save you a couple of hundred on a similar room elsewhere.

One of the best clubs in Singapore - Zouk - is just down the street too.

I keep returning here as I find the value it offers is hard to beat in Singapore. I'd be surprised if you find reason to disagree with me.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you very much for your continued support of our hotel.

We are delighted that you had a hands-down positive experience with us.

You may like to know that we have opened a boutique serviced apartment called THE FOREST BY WANGZ. Should you ever need to stay in Singapore for more than 7 nights, please try it out.

We look forward to be of service to you again.
