I made a mistake with my booking dates and didn't realize it until I was en route to hotel and still on the airplane . The on-duty manager was fantastic, understanding, and very professional. He corrected everything quickly and offered me the same rate for my one- day earlier arrival . The entire staff was excellent and went out of their way to please us. The rooms and bathrooms have been updated. The tub and separate shower head are in a glass enclosure . When you take a shower, the separate tub gets wet, too; this is all the result of renovation and retrofitting to get a separate shower and tub. There are two large round swimming pools that shared with the other Fairmont property . The funny thing is that when people swim laps, they go in circles; but, if someone starts swimming straight across the pool,
then everyone starts swimming straight across. The hotel location is prime because it is across from sister Raffles Hotel, near the City Hall subway stop, connects to a mall, and is an easy walk to the Esplanade and many sights. I would return there without any hesitation and will make it my number choice in Singapore when I am paying the bill myself. Hats off to the friendly, professional, and friendly staff that is there to please .

stayed for 1 night with my husband and 3yr child. Room is big and spacious. But corners of the room and non-carpeted areas feels dirty (on my feet) and some parts can actually see the dust and hair. *yucks*
Bed is very comfy though. Bathroom is clean.
Location is excellent, connected to Raffles City Shopping Centre and the MRT. Thus, good for business travellers.
All in all, I find it as average, nothing to shout about.

I have just returned from a week in Singapore staying at this hotel. I had a large corner room ("Signature") which was very well appointed and very spacious with dual aspect views from two large windows on either side, both leading on to balconies. The only bad point (and this being really fussy) was the room was an older more classic decor than the rooms shown on the hotel website which have a more modern feel. Otherwise though the hotel is well located, the pool a very welcoming size (but lacking in poolside changing facilities). The Raffles city mall above which the hotel is located is also convenient for shopping and provides a generous array of restaurants in the basement level at very reasonable prices and to suit all tastes. Hotel breakfast offered ample choice. The only comment I would say is that there are lots of very nice hotels in Singapore and some would either offer better views (such as the Swisshotel Stamford) or more character and history (such as Raffles Hotel). In summary though a conveniently located hotel which would make a good base tourists and business visitors alike.

Old fashioned style with modern facilities and doorman who have been there since the beginning of time.
Really good spacious rooms and very quiet. Overlooks raffles and close to Glutton's Bay food market.
Eat breakfast at the Hotel - an awesome breakfast and a really good deal
