We had a two night stopover on our way from London to Perth. Our room was large and clean and the beds very comfortable. It was a short walk to Somerset MRT Station. It was our third trip to Singapore and we love the MRT System. There is a rather old shopping mall beneath the hotel and we found it easy to get lost coming and going from the hotel. On the ground floor there is a food court. We ate there on both nights and the food was delicious and very cheap. We chose Chinese but there was also Indian and Korean and a pizza bar. The food court, which closed early - 8pm we think, was full of local people with not a tourist (excluding us) in sight. The staff in the Chinese Restaurant were very helpful. My wife cannot eat verty spicey food but they cooked it exactly as we wanted. They didn't sell alcohol but there were bars outside the hotel and a 7/11 shop closeby. The hotel reception staff were very helpful particularly when I managed to break the room key card in the elevator! Only one slight drawback of the hotel. We had to go to bed very early on the second night as we had an early departure next day to Changi Airport. Our room was on the atrium side of the hotel and the piano in the bar below was very loud. It did not bother us as we always carry ear plugs - not a bad idea.
