My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our trip to South East Asia and loved it. The staff were amazing; the food and drinks delicious. It is a small hotel but has a large, beautifully landscaped pool and tuk tuk drivers on hand to get you to the city centre and main sites within minutes. All round an excellent hotel and can't be faulted.
Following the reviews on trip advisor, we decided to stay at Pavillon d'Orient. It was absolutely fantastic, the staff are excellent and will absolutely anything for you so you don't have to lift a finger literally - they sort everything out. The hotel itself is spotless and the rooms are excellent, spacious, modern but with a twist of Asia and French design. I would highly recommend to stay at this hotel. A tut tut driver is provided for you throughout in the cost and we had a gentleman called Mr Syd - he was fantastic - a really genuine nice man. Thank you to all staff and Sebastian for running such a fine establishment - deserves to be No 1 on Trip Advisor.
My family and I stayed at this incredible place from late December 2011 to early 2012 for a total of 6 nights. From arrival to departure the people running this boutique hotel surprised us with their kindness.
The place is very well run, the staff great, the food was also very nice and nice size servings, what else can you ask for. I guess other reviewers will boost each one of these so just have this from me: Go and stay there, you'll love it. Siem Reap attractions need a lot of time to visit and take a toll on you, this is your recovery in paradise.
As with all Tripadvisor addiction you sift through all the reviews before you book your trip and hotel, then after its booked you watch the reviews daily like you are keeping a eye on your penny shares , everyone has their own methods of sorting out the blag ones to the genuine i tend to look for uk with past reviews and never go for anyone who starts with honeymoon as these are usually first time to the country and looking through tinted glasses with glazed eyes .
Now lets get back to the outstanding Pavillon d'orient hotel as you have read the reviews before they are all true . The hotel is 5star service honest it is . If anyone has stayed at any of the excellent Thai Amari hotels the staff here look like they are the ones that have excelled and moved on to the pavillion, the staff also must have jaw ache at the end of the day with the amount of smiling they do, nothing is a problem for the staff the rooms are beautiful with nice little touches the bed time story and even a little gift when you leave, and The pool is great after a long hot day at Ancient Angkor.
Because the hotel is slightly out of the main town of Siem Reap (do not let this put you off ) all the better hotels are out of the town and its only ten mins in the free tuk tuk service the hotel provides which adds to the holiday we had Som or Mr Som as the hotel calls him , he was fantastic pick up drop off anytime , Angkor of a day and siem reap of a night...( Angkor Palm restaurant is also a winner in siem reap town ) all in all the Khmer people are the most friendly you will ever meet , we spent 3 nights here and loved it
