“Top service, elegant, excellent retreat”

The Borei Angkor Resort & Spa is truly a jewel among the hotels in Siem Reap. This is the second time we stayed at the Borei Angkor (this time for 4 nights) - after we had stayed at other hotels in Siem Reap on previous trips. The staff throughout the hotel is super friendly and helpful. Their traditional Khmer dresses match perfectly with the elegant design throughout the hotel premises. Check-in was prompt and professional. You are asked to take a seat, get a refreshing towel and drink while the staff is taking care of the paperwork.

The Spa at the hotel is - as stated by other guests before - more expensive than massage parlors outside the hotel. But we enjoyed the quality of the Borei Angkor spa and can only recommend it to other guests. Breakfast and dinner are of good quality - with "live cooking" areas in the morning and at dinner.

The hotel staff proofed its understanding of a top service hotel after we injured ourselves in the hotel room. One of the managers immediately arranged the free transport to the best and most renown hospital in Siem Reap and stayed with us during the entire treatment. The director followed, taking care of us in an outstanding manner. Eventhough it was only a small injury they did all the best you can imagine. In those situations hotels can proof what top service really means. Thank you, Borei Angkor Resort & Spa Hotel.

We can only recommend this 5-star-hotel with an excellent value-for-money once you go to Siem Reap.

The hotel itself is not in the centre of the city. But that is no problem as a Tuk-tuk is always available to get you to the city heart in just a few minutes for 2 US-dollars.

“Slightly disappointed”

I just spent 3 nights at the Borei Angkor Resort and Spa and I felt a bit disappointed with what I thought I was going to experience versus what I did experience. I was looking forward to a weekend away from Phnom Penh, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I was looking forward to a luxurious weekend away. I had a huge room, all wood and it was very clean; however the lighting was dim, the furniture sparse ( decor was not minimalistic ) and the TV was old, small and a far distance from the bed. The Internet was nonexistent although free wi fi was one of the featured amenities. The staff was very courteous and the breakfast buffet was one of the best I have seen. The bed and pillows were quite hard and uncomfortable. I was disappointed in what was advertised and what I actually paid for. I felt the room was too expensive for what I experienced. I have no complaints about the staff, food, or service... only the price of the room, the 5 Star rating and what I thought I would get for that price in comparison to what I did receive. It is a very big resort and it is probably better suited to large parties, families or tours.

Room Tip: There is no huge difference in the most expensive room compared to the normal room. In fact the les...

“Super!”

My husband and I booked a 5-night package deal with a generous food and spa treatment account which we used fully... The spa ladies knew what they were doing, treatment rooms and set up were excellent, prices reasonable and we have nothing but praise. The same must be said for the breakfast buffet -- the choice and quality of local and international dishes surpassed a benchmark set in Singapore more than 20 years ago! The dinner buffets were good value too. We can fully recommend the Cultural Night Khmer Dinner. Unbeatable in quality and price were the cocktails at Happy Hour!

Staff were incredibly friendly and obliging -- and provided by far the best service we have experienced while travelling all over the world!

Our 'Landmark' room was clean, spacious and fully equipped, including free wireless internet access. The bathroom was large and had a big freestanding bathtub. However, providing just two tea, coffee and and sugar bags per day did not match the generosity experienced otherwise. And 'creamer' instead of fresh milk is not acceptable for an hotel of this standard.

We booked a tour guide and tuk-tuk transport for our sunrise trip to Angkor Wat through the hotel's Hospitality Desk (45 USD). Their guides are all trained by the Department of Tourism and had to go through rigorous training prior to receiving their license. Our guide spoke English well and was very knowledgeable with respect to Cambodia's ancient and recent history.

Bottomline: we loved our stay at the Borei Angkor and highly recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with view of the swimming pool.

“Honored guest,fantastic”

Just spent three incredible days at the Borei Angkor. Our room was spectacular-the deluxe, all wood (floor, ceiling and walls) suite facing the large swimming pool with built in jacuzzi. After sightseeing all day, the 90 minute $45 massage in the spa and fitness center was just the thing to relax you before supper. Breakfast was complete with waffles, pancakes, eggs to order etc. The hotel has a unique position of Resident host, under the direction of Tim Hy, wherein a host was assigned to us to ensure our complete satisfaction during our stay. Our host asked us what type of mattress we desired and we were accommodated. Approximately twenty performers in full native costumes entertained us at the evening Cambodian culture show . The all Cambodian staff made us feel as royalty and "honored guest". A great buy.

Room Tip: Pool view is recommended

“Amazing Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2012

Pretty sure our room was about $45 a night. Amazing value. Breakfast amazing. Service well beyond the call of duty. Location is kind of average if your looking to go out every night in town as the walk (20mins) can be a bit dubious on the way back late at night. Tuk Tuks are only $2 though.
