Each time we visited Xiamen, Millennium Harbourview is our ultimate choice. I love the great service, sumptuous buffet spread, large and comfortable rooms and the best part is that it's a less than a minute walk away from Zhong Shan Road.

Unfortunately I also have to add on that my recent stay(4th time) with them was pretty unpleasant. Terrible service from the receptionists during check in and check out! I hope this is only a one off incident and that they will improve when I visit again the next time round.

The Millennium Harbourview and their super friendly staff have become like family to me over the last several years. Typically I am able to travel to Xiamen once a year and every time I do, I stay at the Millennium.

The staff are reason number 1. They make efforts to know our first names and respectfully call us by our last. In an unfortunate moment of forgetfulness, a bag was left in a taxi and the staff at the MH were quite efficient in tracking down the taxi and getting our belongings back. They always go the extra mile and truly put me at ease while I stay as their guest.

The rooms are quite comfortable and have everything one might need for a stay. I have stayed in the Deluxe, Superior, and Executive rooms and have really been more than comfortable with all of them. The value for the price is excellent and I have never looked at going to any other hotel...the MH has captivated my attention!

The breakfast buffet and dinner buffet were beyond amazing. I have really grown to love breakfast as a special part of my trips here. They have copious amounts of Western favorites as well as morsels of local preferences at both seatings.

The location of the MH is perfect. One block from the water, a short taxi or local bus to the University and beach, and you are set. Downtown Xiamen is also a short cab ride away, and if you are adventurous, not too far for a walk either.

If you are traveling on business or leisure, you will feel quite comfortable in this VERY safe, VERY customer-centric hotel!

Overall, the service is very good. The room is big and comfortable. The decoration is done in good taste. And the bathroom is very clean. Though the mattress is hard as usual (in China), they supply a soft cushion as soon as I demand it. We enjoy the complimentary fruit in our room---fresh and sweet. We also like the Italian restaurant in the hotel---the chef from Italy is very nice, but oddly the manager (a middle-aged woman)'s service attitude is much worse than the waitresses' (those young girls are extremely helpful and courteous).
What is unacceptable is that their green tea has no flavor at all (considering the city is right in Fujien province famous for its green tea) and decaf comes in only instant packs. This hotel could be a five-star one if they could improve on these issues. I believe they'll because the management office calls and asks for our evaluation before we check out. It shows that they do try hard to maintain their standards.
By the way, try to avoid any trip to the Gulangyu Island on weekends, because the ferry is so crowded and chaotic. It's a beautiful island but it's hard to find a clean, decent cafe or restaurant.

Not bad at all.

In a convenient location for the waterfront, the Millenium offers a good value hotel compared to some of the other big name chains.

Check in was faultless as was the well appointed room.

Bar area is a little sterile and one of those areas where they are trying to create a bar but failing miserably. Must be better bars a short cab ride away.

Food is okay but nothing spectacular.
