The housekeeping personnel must at least be taught of some english words for eacy communication not always sign language. We stayed for a week it is good that our housekeeper Brian could communicate a little.

Stay in Grand Hyatt Shenzhen one night for transit.
I have assigned a room in the mid level with a city view. I like the ceiling-to-floor window, the oversize work desk, and the interior design is great.
The facilities in the fitness center are also excellent and the staff there are very nice. Room service is awesome as well!
Really enjoy my stay here and will definitely return again!
I stayed at this hotel as part of work but extended stay for personal leisure. The following review are based on western standards.
This is a modern hotel with all the western amenities, quality and services. The rooms are large and comfortable, the only possible issue is the glass bathroom for those travelling together but do not want that level of 'intimacy'. The gas-fostered glass helps but can be troublesome.
Location wise it is close to the 万象城 shopping centre next door where major luxury brands are located. There are many restaurants around including Simply Life just outside in the courtyard.
The only qualm I have with the hotel is the layout of the lifts. The lifts are configured so that you CANNOT get to the guest room directly from the ground floor. You either have to 1. take the Express lift to Reception Lobby (33rd floor?? Cant remember the exact floor) and then change lift, OR take the Ground Floor Lifts to Floor 3 (?? again cannot remember) and change. This was highly confusing to most of the first time guests but you get used to it after a while.
If a friend needs to stay at SZ again I will not hesitate to recommend this hotel at all.
I have been to Shenzhen numerous times, but have never stayed at the Grand Hyatt. It was a wonderful experience. We booked into the Club level. Our room was very large, with two distinct areas - a large lounge area and then the bedroom wing, with the bathroom located behind glass walls. We found the service in the Club level to be excellent - no complaints whatsoever. As part of our Club level status, we were able to enjoy breakfast in the 'show kitchen' , located on the 32nd floor. There are five kitchens, offering different cuisines - amazing. Also, the outdoor pool area is excellent. The hotel is located right next door to a very upmarket shopping complex, but if you want to look for some bargains, it is only a short taxi ride to the Lowu Shopping centre. The best of both worlds!
Spent two nights here as a solo female traveler for business.
My experiences are mainly about the late night/early morning hours (as I was in meetings for most of the day). If I hadn't known from other posts about the 33rd floor lobby, I would have been thoroughly confused that first night.
Room is super nice and luxurious, the glass cube bathroom is unique.
Health club fully stocked and somewhat busy at 5am, but that was it for the activity I saw in the hotel, as I didn't eat at any of the restaurants.
Arriving at 11:30pm, there were no options for me to get something to eat in a lounge/bar/restaurant. I think the nightclub might have been open, but its on another floor and no one suggested it to me. I was told everything was closed. And the 33rd floor lobby was super quiet. At 6am checkout, the lobby is quiet and un-populated as well.
You feel more likely you're signing in and out of an office tower than staying at a hotel. And that's a little weird for me, so I'm not sure it was worth the expense to stay here.
Staff is friendly but at least 4 staff people I approached (I don't speak a Chinese dialect, so I asked in English) apologized for not speaking English.
The adjacent shopping mall (up the escalator to the main 8 story mall) is stocked with all sorts of stores and restaurants, and even an ice rink. It's a great place to people watch in the evenings as it seemed to be open late.
