“Wish not choose this hotel again.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Have business trip there and it is the closed and the most expensive hotel closed my factory. Service is average. Room is old and dirty. My customer came from US told me that her room lock is not work and made her scary. Of course she cannot sleep. Breakfast is bad. Too many people and not enough waitress to service you. Finally we just stay one night and move to another hotel.

“A good resort for families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

I stayed in this resort for 2 nights just before Christmas 2011.

The resort are maintained very well. In fact, some renovation work was in process during our stay as a preparation for a few big festivals coming.

The resort are composed of quite a few facilities, including hot springs , theme park, theatre and man made lake. I bought a package compose of room stay with breakfast, tickets for hot spring , theme park/theatre. According to our experience, the hot spring are worth to try, there are many different kind of hot spring pond for u; the theme park is also not bad; while the theatre show is so-so.

Do avoid the weekend and public Holliday, otherwise, I'm afraid u will be disappoint in crowd everywhere.

There are many restaurant in the resort, the price is reasonable and the food quality is good.

“Okay...but very far away”

The hotel was very beautiful and the hotel staff was extremely friendly...but that is about it. The hot springs are great...but other than that there is very little to do at the hotel. The food is okay and expensive and it takes about 45 minutes to get anywhere from the hotel.

“Mosquito Land”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

My sister and I checked into this hotel with my parents. We were assigned a decent room close to the elevator while my elderly parents had to walk miles to their hotel room which to their shock was a bi-level room. The entry to their room was on the top level (door, mini table and 2 chairs) and they had to walk down a long, steep staircase to get to the bed and bathroom. Their room smelled of stale smoke so they opened the glass door to air it out. I was very worried that my parents would slip and fall down the stairs in their hotel room so my sister and I agreed to switch rooms with them. It would haunt me later during the night because mosquitos in the area snuck into the room through the briefly open glass door. My sister and I heard mosquitos' high-pitched buzzing in our ears all night. I woke up with 7 huge mosquito bites on my left cheek, 2 on my wrist, blood on my nightshirt and blood and a dead mosquito on the pillow.

We really came for the hot springs which our tour guide said was fabulous. The staff are very friendly, but be prepared to practice your Chinese because they do not speak English. The women's locker room turns into a zoo after 9:30 p.m. - not sure whether a big group had just checked in. I relaxed on a deck chair alongside the indoor hot springs and waved two roaming masseuses to give me a foot massage (RMB48) and shoulder massage (RMB48). I was already warned by friends that they would insist on getting a tip, atypical in China. The masseuses were so friendly and worked so hard to relieve my stress that I happily added on RMB20 for each of them.

If you are the sort of person who usually stays at the St. Regis, Shangri-la, Four Seasons brand hotels (or others of the luxury level), this hotel is NOT for you. If you just want a fun family getaway and are already in the Zhuhai area, this is could be an option. But bring bug spray or citronella candles and lotion and beware of those pesky mosquitos.

“Sure doesn't feel like Spring here”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2010

If this is the 2nd best hotel in Zhuhai, I suggest you not come to Zhuhai for a holiday. I had to come here for business so I have no choice. It's a very large complex meant for the MICE crowd, and I unfortuantely had a far-end room a mile from the lobby. The room is average, with an old cathode ray tv, so you know it's downhill from here. We have a large group of 200 which expanded to 1000 after 2 days, so I don't expect much quality from the buffet food. The "guest service" hotline will never be picked up by a human so don't even bother.

The front desk is such a hoot. I left my room key in the room when I left and asked for a 2nd card. They insisted on going back to my room to "identify" my belongings to ensure it's my room. Then they said I should have put a card in the light slot. I told them it doesn't fulfil my request of a 2nd card plus I refuse to place my credit card in the light slot to keep the lights on. They reluctantly gave me a 2nd card

The laundry service is also such a blast. First, don't bother to even help them by delivering the laundry to the front desk. They will ask you to walk 10mins back to your room for them to collect. Second, if you are not in room and of course I'm not since I'm here for meetings, they will leave you a note to call them when you are ready and in the room. Third, it appears to be a cash only service and they won't charge to your room so prepare your cash. I stay in 50 hotels a year and this laundry service takes the cake

The only plus point is the free internet, not that I can't afford it anyway

I hope I never have to return, not that they care
