Yijian is a chain of hotel, seafood restaurants, and health centres (places for massage). I'm surprised at the standard that is kept even after my last visit one & half years ago. This hotel is only available on one internet site currently.
Pluses:
The location - about 10mins walk to the Gongbei customs area, there is shuttle buses from the hotel that brings you to any of their massage centres in the area. Use it to get to Gongbei customs area if you're going there to shop, it would save you 10RMB per trip
Rooms are of relatively large size, and that includes the size of the bathrooms as well. The standard room includes 2 queen sized beds, if you're on a budget, that could comfortably fit 4 pax in a room.
The seafood restaurant is at the ground floor of the hotel, extremely convenient. - variety of food available, but if you can't read mandarin/chinese, the english translations would sound really odd.
If you're tired but want a massage, you can call the reception and ask for a masseur to be sent to your room - it would be more expensive as compared to going to the health centre, but for the convenience, it is still considered cheap.
Direct buses from the hotel to Macau airport for 60RMB per pax. Goes through a different customs, which is essentially empty. Leaves every half hour
Minus:
Not only the hotel, but the city is a very chinese/mandarin speaking place, if you can't speak the language, it might be a little tough to get around
Entire hotel/city is a smoking area, if you're sensitive to smoke, china's not a great place to be in.
Even though they said all the rooms are non-smoking rooms, there are ashtrays in every room.
Walls are extremely thin. You can hear everything happening outside your corridor. Earplugs recommended if you're a light sleeper
