Nice location overlooking the bay and close to the water. About 15 minute taxi ride from the HK ferry terminal. Taxi is 11 RMB so don't let the touts convince you otherwise. Stand in the lineup for the official taxis. Hotel check in was smooth. There was a difference in room rate quoted but they sorted it out quickly. Not alot of English language but very functional. Good breakfast buffet with many Western and Asian options. Dinner at the French restaurant was a bit confusing but the food was good. Keep in mind ordering French food in Zhuhhai is a novelty (and we chose it as two wedding parties were in the Cantonese restaurant). The room rate included breakfast, internet and afternoon tea! Bed was very comfotable and suite was spacious. Gym is great, with lots of machines, a yoga room, and even a place to play Wii and X-box. Check-out was easy and doorman secured a taxi in record time.

This time, due to the race in Zhuhai, we couldn't stay at the regular HOLIDAY INN but had to stay at this hotel again.

Yes, the location is superb, right in the center, walking distance from the restaurants, the bars... but it's really getting old. The rooms have this smell, the furniture has dents, the lobby is dark and there's some mushroom living on the ceiling... the elevators take ages until they arrive...

No, the HOLIDAY INN isn't perfect at all - but presently it's much better than this one.

As I stated, the hotel's locaiton is ideal. Located overlooking the bay, it has very nice water views for many rooms as well as a wooded area on the back side of the hotel too.
I found the lobby to be looking old and a bit stuffy upon arrival. Staff were very good throughout the stay.
I did love the room. Large, updated and nicely updated bathroom. Noise level was not ideal from people in hallways as well as late night music from a downstairs club.
It was short walk to shopping, a large bar street and the waterfront.
Only challenge seemed to be to secure taxi's, but the staff did work hard to overcome this from what I observed.
The only negative for the visit was the meeting room and support. Our meeting was not well supported by the staff who were seemingly less attentive to our needs and not well trained to avoid disruptions to the meeting as they came and went.
Overall due to location, I would consider returning here.

We stayed for our anniversary for 2 nights. The hotel is meant to be a 5* but it was very tired looking. Huge rooms and pretty clean but not even close to what I would call 5*. The views are great over the water and it's very close to bar street. There are shops and an ATM in the lobby. Overall, not a bad hotel but I think you can get more for your money elsewhere.
