I stayed in this hotel twice on a recent business trip to Hainan Island and I have to say that this is the best hotel in Haikou. I've stayed at numerous other establishments in the city, but the overall quality and price of rooms at the Hainan Airlines Mingguang Hotel cannot be beat (plus it is located in the tallest building in all of Hainan Province). You are greeted in English as soon as you approach the lobby and the staff do their upmost to have you check in quickly and painlessly. Rooms are clean, reasonably large with all amenities (including free internet access and satellite TV). I wouldn't even consider staying in another hotel while visiting Haikou.

The only downside is that if you arrive late in the evening by private car (as I did) it is hard to find a vacant parking spot outside the hotel. There is underground parking available, but for some reason not for hotel guests (which I found strange as it is empty). I would hope that the management rethink this and in the future allow paying hotel guests with private cars to park in their excellent underground parking garage.

Overall, quite happy with the hotel and will stay there again on subsequent trips to Haikou.
