The ITC Gardenia is a very good hotel in Bangalore, set back off a busy road. The location itself is a little problematic as the area is very congested, but then again you can say that about anywhere in Bangalore.
The hotel itself is very modern and clean with excellent service. Rooms are tidy and a good size with good amenities. It bills itself as a "Green" hotel which normally just means no clean sheets and poor water pressure, but here it doesn't negatively impact the hotel experience. The shower is actually very good.
The rooms also come equiped with an outdoor balcony which is a nice touch if the weather is right.
If I had to pick on anything I would say that the food in the hotel is a bit average, and the walkway in the corridor is just weird, it feels like you are walking on a gym mat covered in carpet. Also I would say the service is a little too good - you can't turn around without someone asking if they can make your stay better, to the point of knocking on your door every night and asking what they can do. Sometimes just being left alone is ideal, but as I say this is nitpicking and I would certainly complain if the service wasn't there.
Also when you are connecting to the internet make sure you ask for an external IP or else you can only get to internal India websites and most of your web based apps won't work (assuming you are from outside India). Waiting for this to be set up when late for a conference call was the only wrinkle in the stay.
The bar is very good with a generous happy hour, good lighting, great ambience and excellent service.
Overall I would absolutely recommend this hotel as a nice quiet and clean hotel set back from the hustle and bustle of Bangalore, just make sure you book a car for off peak times
