I booked this hotel through the internet, but later on I found out that I heavily overpaid because you can find much better value for the same money elsewhere in town.
1) Location: not good because the hotel is way outside of town and unless you are up for a walk in a very dusty and somewhat seedy street, you always need an autoriksja to take you to town (Rs 80 one way, and you might have to wait for up to 10 minutes to get one). The hotel is in a new part of town which is still very much under construction, hence piles of rubble everywhere around the hotel.
2) Room: I had a "Desert Suite" which has nice furnishings and a good bathroom with everything in working order.
3) Service: worst ever. I requested an extra pillow but the one I received was dirty. Same story with the towels: no idea what they had been used for, but certainly not something I normally use towels for. I requested other towels but was handed again dirty ones. I understand that locals may have different standards of hygiene, but it you pay Western prices, you may expect Western standards.
4) There was construction work going on in the hotel until 11.30 PM. Not really the best way to fall asleep.
5) It was very cold when I stayed there in December, and the room could not be heated. I requested a small heater, which in other hotels was always available when requested, but the Jasmin Haveli simply didn't have one. I was told: "once in bed you will be warm". Right.
6) The owner was rather pushy to sell me a camel safari, but I was warned that you should never buy one from your hotel in Jaisalmer.
In short: a place to avoid. There is much better value for money in Jaisalmer.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your feedback for our Hotel.
I’m so sorry to hear of your bad experience, we do every thing we can to make sure of a trustworthy and clean environment in the hotel and I apologise for any building work that was going on they should not be working that late and we will be making sure this does not happen again. We have taken back ownership of Hotel Jasmin Haveli as the previous manager we least it to had let the standards slip, having dirty towels is not acceptable we will bring in new mashers so this will never happen again.
my sincere apologies,
Jitendra Kumar Bissa
