“service and hospitality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

we were at the hotel for a night and a day, the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. they took care of all our needs without any frown, just relating an incident, we misplaced our daughers jacket and finally figured out that we had left it at a shop in the jaisalmer market. we informed the hotel manager Mr. Ram Singh who went out of his way to get it and courier it to us.
overall a good experience and i would surely recomend it to anyone visiting the hotel.

“Wonderful friendly service and great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Everybody goes to great pains to make your stay comfortable. Rooms are comfortable and food good. Great value for money. Although 5 mins drive from fort, that can be a welcome relief from chaos of fort area. We had an amusing, painful and fun camel trek, with a wonderful dinner in the desert under the stars.

“a lot of improvement is needed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

This hotel changed management a few months ago and has clearly deteriorated, based on the reviews I read when Fifu was still the manager. The rooms are dirty. Towels are stained and look unwashed. Curtains and window seating mattresses are stained with water, mold, and mildew. My room had ants in it and they got into all of my clothes and personal possessions. While eating breakfast a roach walked across the floor by my table, and of course where there is one roach there are hundreds! My toilet ran 24/7 and constantly leaked onto the bathroom floor. One evening I had no water in my room and the manager and staff seemed very baffled about how to fix this problem. At one point the manager came to my room to tell me that water had been restored but I had all the taps open and they were dry, so I insisted he try again. Most nights I was the only guest, yet one day they forgot to clean my room. They wanted to charge me USD $10 for a pickup at the station which is about 1 km away. Take my advice and stay next store at Hotel Fifu which has great food and the manager, Fifu, is amazing and helpful. Avoid this place. It's a disaster.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your feedback for our Hotel.

Once again my sincere apologies to you, it was not made clear to us at the time of the previous management that this was going on. We have now taken back ownership of hotel jasmin and hope the trust has not been completely lost, we have taken swift action to get back up to top standards.

my sincere apologies,

“Expensive for Jaisalmer, poor service, bad location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

I booked this hotel through the internet, but later on I found out that I heavily overpaid because you can find much better value for the same money elsewhere in town.

1) Location: not good because the hotel is way outside of town and unless you are up for a walk in a very dusty and somewhat seedy street, you always need an autoriksja to take you to town (Rs 80 one way, and you might have to wait for up to 10 minutes to get one). The hotel is in a new part of town which is still very much under construction, hence piles of rubble everywhere around the hotel.
2) Room: I had a "Desert Suite" which has nice furnishings and a good bathroom with everything in working order.
3) Service: worst ever. I requested an extra pillow but the one I received was dirty. Same story with the towels: no idea what they had been used for, but certainly not something I normally use towels for. I requested other towels but was handed again dirty ones. I understand that locals may have different standards of hygiene, but it you pay Western prices, you may expect Western standards.
4) There was construction work going on in the hotel until 11.30 PM. Not really the best way to fall asleep.
5) It was very cold when I stayed there in December, and the room could not be heated. I requested a small heater, which in other hotels was always available when requested, but the Jasmin Haveli simply didn't have one. I was told: "once in bed you will be warm". Right.
6) The owner was rather pushy to sell me a camel safari, but I was warned that you should never buy one from your hotel in Jaisalmer.

In short: a place to avoid. There is much better value for money in Jaisalmer.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your feedback for our Hotel.

I’m so sorry to hear of your bad experience, we do every thing we can to make sure of a trustworthy and clean environment in the hotel and I apologise for any building work that was going on they should not be working that late and we will be making sure this does not happen again. We have taken back ownership of Hotel Jasmin Haveli as the previous manager we least it to had let the standards slip, having dirty towels is not acceptable we will bring in new mashers so this will never happen again.

my sincere apologies,
