“You get what you pay for”

Have stayed at the Legian Village Hotel twice. For the money I don't think it is too bad. Very central, beds were clean, bathroom could have been better. Stayed in a bungalow and was nice and quiet. Staff were lovely. Convenient to have restaurant and entertainment plus pool all in one area. Will stay there again.

“Hang on I have good things to say!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

We chose the Legian Village Hotel as we could not get in our normal hotel at short notice, we stayed in the newer rooms above reception, I cannot comment on other rooms.
This is not a 5 star hotel so I did not expect 5 star service or facilities, this is a cheap hotel so I don’t understand why so many reviewers expect high standards, surely if you are posting on Trip Advisor, you would have read the reviews and not stayed here in the4 first place. We knew some people who had stayed in the same rooms and trusted their opinion, so we took a chance.
Our room was large and the air con worked well, the room was upstairs so yes you have to carry bags upstairs, no surprise. The bathroom was clean, the shower hight was fixed for a midget and a quick 2 minutes with a pair of point nose scissors cleared all the scale out of the showerhead and it was fine. My only minor niggle with the room was no personal room safe.
Breakfast was fine a fruit plate and toast and jam, juice, tea coffee, then a choice of eggs, pancake, noodles, rice. Perfectly adequate, yes the OJ was powdered but I have stayed in a lot more expensive hotels where it is exactly the same, the guava juice however was spot on, perhaps some people need to try something other than “safe” OJ.
The pool was clear no murk or mould, water temp was a little warm, no problem getting a sun lounge.
There was noise from the bar area until the music stopped just after 11pm, but as we don’t go to bed until 11-12pm it didn’t bother us, road noise was not an issue.
As I started by saying this is the rooms above reception not the bungalows or other rooms, they maybe as otherwise described.
They are building a new block behind reception, so I guess these rooms will be ok as well.
Given this was less than half the cost I normally pay, I was very happy with my stay and will have to think seriously if I will go back to my favourite or save a lot of money here.

Room Tip: Room above reception or new block behind

“Is this Bali?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

The room lights were yellow color and dim. It smelled mouldy and there were strands of hair on the white-tiled floor, bedsheet. Bed and pillow were uncomfortable and did not smell clean.
The bathtub, floor, toilet bowl seemed under-maintained and there was a small window at the top that i wonder where is the other side of our toilet.
Feel uncomfortable and uneasy staying in this hotel...
No lift services. If you are having bulky luggage, do think twice. The reception areas smelled bad (from the leather sofa)....sigh, a spoiler.

“Terrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in for the price. The beds are uncomfortable, room grubby, bathroom is disgusting. Powdered orange juice for breakfast and the pool looks like a sewer. If you want to get any sleep at all go some where else. If the traffic noise doesn't keep you awake the staff banging and leaving at 5am will wake you.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else

“Do Not Stay here!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011

It's a very dim, dirty, old room! Not worthy with the price!!! Receptionist is not friendly at all. Breakfast is awful, the swimming is dirty, hotel's management is pity worse. public toilet is dirty, dirty and only dirty, it spoiled my holiday and left a very bad memory for this Bali Trip! Renovation is going on, so do not bring your family to here unless you have no other hotel to go~
