“quiet and comfortable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 March 2010

I like how Puri Etnik is set up, down a quiet alley, after the reception area, you walk through the premise, restaurant and well maintained swimming pool on your left followed by two rows of rooms with a balinese altar in the middle of the compound. Feels peaceful and serene. The rooms are simple and clean with a TV and hot shower in the air-conditioned rooms. Free WiFi is available at the pool area and in the rooms. My only gripe would be the mosquitoes that hover outside and sometimes in the room. Walking distance to massage places, laundry places, food and shopping and even the beach. We thought it was good value for money and went back thrice after leaving for Komodo and Lembongan and returning to Bali respectively.

“I had a very pleasant stay at the puri etnik hotel”

I felt comfortable, had a good breakfast every morning, clean sheets everyday,
the pool clean and clear, the rooms were clean, friendly and helpfull people.
People from all over the world, stay there,
I met also people from other islands in Indonesia, there is a lovely garden with really old trees. Only the road to the hotel, could use some repair.

“A dreadful experience”

I have been to Bali 16 times and this was my 17 visit.I stayed here the first time in1991 when it used to be called 'BRUNA BEACH HOTEL'.It was wonderful and year after year during my visits to Bali i have not stayed anywhere else but in this hotel.About five years ago a different management took over and the downfall started. The atmosphere and ambience was gone After a four year lapse I decided to try this hotel again. They did many changes but alas it is just a paint job and cementing the walkway. The aircon does not work the staff attitude is 'zero' .I checked in about 3 in the afternoon and I was out by five. the same day.The aircon was not working the lights were so dim you could hardly see yourself in the mirror. The mini fridge was rusty and there was a terrible smell in all the rooms I inspected.Dont let your holiday be spoiled by a hotel which does not want to spend money to upgrade itself.Bali is a beautiful place and the people warm.Places like this 'hotel' gives it a negative attutide.Avoid 'PURI ETNIK HOTEL'

“I would not put a dog in here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2008

We were 'dumped' in this disgusing place after arriving at Champlung Mas to find that they had overbooked and did not have rooms (which we had booked and paid for 10 months previously) for our party of 9. We were quickly pushed into the Champlung Mas bus and driven to Puri Etnik. Now, I am an experienced budget traveller who has, among other things, backpacked for many months through India and have stayed at some pretty seedy places. However, Puri Etnik is quite simply the filthiest, most run down, hazardous and down right ugly place I have ever seen. After looking at room after room, we refused point blank to stay at this "hotel". My advice to any traveller is to avoid this place like the plague.....
