- Accor Kuta Bali
- Mercure Kuta

I stayed here for two nights and felt that the furnishing looked rather worn out. The bath tub didn't look the least bit inspiring for me to have a bubble bath as although clean, looked like it was in need of renovation. I really liked the rooftop pool though, and it is in excellent location right in the midst of kuta town, and across from the beach.
it is just right in frond beach, enjoy the view and food are good too.my kids love to stay there.
Right on Kuta beach, the Mercure is adjacent to Poppies Lane and next to Bali’s austen tayshus Hard Rock hotel. If you are after a reasonable four star hotel at the centre of Bali party HQ then it’s a good option.
Buffet breakfast is pretty standard hotel fare but is done very well. More than enjoyable!
The highlight is the landscaping and the pool area. The central quadrangle has a delightful tropical pond with massive koi. The pool area on the roof doesn’t come close to what’s on offer at many of the other Bali resorts but is really well done although I’d image it would fill up quickly on a peak day. The infinity edge is pretty special -almost like Kuta beach is within fingers reach (without any of the craziness of being on the shore line). It is definitely an adult retreat area though. Everything is pretty compact and I think kids would end up going a bit stir crazy and in turn, driving all other paying guests up the wall.
The room was perhaps a bit small for our liking and very dim (more lights!). Bathrooms looked a bit dated so a freshen up is probably close to due. Air con was really loud but could be an isolated incident or perhaps a ploy to block out the occasional spurt of noise from Kuta revellers seeking their bed.
If you want a real taxi as opposed to one of the thieving unmarked jobs that have swung some sort of deal with management enabling them to set up shop inside the hotel security gate then be prepared to wait. The bell boy will tell you one has been called and will keep suggesting you try one of his ‘friends’ when the real cab doesn’t show despite the fact that youv’e seen dozens drive past the gate! I know this happens at many Bali hotels but it is generally more discrete! If you are smart then you’ll just go to the road and hail your own blue cab. You’ll be on the road in about 30 seconds! Always make sure the car has a meter and that the meter is on!
It’s a four star and delivers within the ballpark of that rating. As stated, the bathrooms need an update and the lighting is dim beyond atmospheric. I probably wouldn’t be staying for a great holiday escape but its more than reasonable if you are doing a call in to Kuta for shopping, partying with friends or enroute to a resort hotel elsewhere.
