Was there for 5 days in February 2012 with my wife.
Location - Well located within the drinking spots of Kuta. Shops selling souvenirs all around. A walk of about 150m from the main street and can be rather dark after nightfall. A distance from most of the other stuff though. The Kuta Beach is like a 15 minutes walk.
Service Staff - Friendly and helpful. Prompt service on most occasions. They took noticed that my wife was pregnant and was kind enough to ask if we wanted to have a ground floor room instead of the 2nd floor one assigned to us (we stuck with the assigned one).
Environment - Two different wings. The newer one consists of the reception, lobby, bar, dining area, swimming pool, poolside bar and the superior (looks like it to me) rooms. The older one, which i stayed in, houses the massage pavilion and the standard rooms in 4 storey walk up apartment blocks Lots of greenery and serene environment.
Room - The simple and dated standard room we stayed in was rundown, grim on the toilet walls, air condition was hardly cooling and wardrobe falling apart. Good thing was the bed had no bugs and the room was spacious.
Breakfast - Decent spread with choice of eggs cooked on the spot. The cooks are obviously very good with fried noodles and rice, which was served daily. No complaints for me since i am an Asian. There is cornflakes, milk, juices, fruits, meats (sausages or bacon) and daily broiled tomatoes. Palatable by my standards.
Guests - A mixture of mainly Aussies, some China nationals, some Indonesians, a couple of Vietnamese and two Singaporeans, us. LOL... Most were polite and kept to themselves. Some of the Aussies were obviously enjoying themselves, especially since there was Australia Day on 26 Feb.
Things to do - The main street just outside have lots of drinking holes to choose from if you just want to have a great time partying. Restaurants, eateries are open till late as well. Convenience stores are all over the place. Poppies Lane 2 is a good shopping area (just remember to bargain for everything you buy.) Guided tours are readily available through booking either on the spot or beforehand. Rent a car or motorcycle if you can drive or ride. Easier to move around if you want to do some self exploring (Just be careful as traffic can be rather disorganized).
Overall - The stay with Dewi Sri is good due to the human factor. It will be great if the standard rooms can be improved.
