“problems with getting coffee machine but resolved in the end”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2012

i have just returned from a trip to bali staying at the laguna today .
i spent five days there , on the fri of arrival i requested a coffee machine , and had problems getting the coffee machine , coffee, and milk in the room at the same time how ever i got plenty of sugar which they kept bringing to me !!.
it was resolved by sinday evening by which time i was getting a bit annoyed ,
i was told that i had to pay for the coffees i ordered through the butler service by two different butlers , but i was later told by the manager that this was incorrect and coffee is free to your room delivered by the butler .
i was there for five days for my birthday i was given a complimentry meal and drinks for two for my birthday for any inconveience , , which they didnt have to do , and i have to say it was a really beautiful meal and sitting by the beach drinking a margerita will stay in my memory for a long time [ pure luxury]the staff are very friendly and they went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful time [ which we did ]
the following morning at breakfast they came out with a birthday cake singing happy birthday , [ sightly embaressing but very sweet ] which my husband did justice to !!!
it was a really beautiful resort , the gardens , the pool areas and i especially loved the lounges by the bar under the banyan trees ,
there are paths all along the beach where we walked in the evening very tranquil
thankyou for a lovely relaxing stay and making my birthday extra special, i felt totally spollt

“Three Days at the Stunning Laguna”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

I spent 3 days during Nyepi there, It was an awesome resort, The service was outstanding, the resort staffs were friendly and very helpful, the ambiance is perfect for relaxing pleasure, a large pool with a beach sand, a water falls and curvy pool made the resort into real Laguna, The resort was beautiful with a scenic tropical view, a blue sky made that day complete. The food also great, since they have a really good chef "Putra", My three days stay was over in a blink of eyes, I am looking forward to stay there again, soon :)

Room Tip: All rooms are good, try to ask a direct pool access from your room, awesome :)

“could have / should have stayed longer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

we have just returned from a five night holiday at the resort, and would have been happy to have stayed there a few more days.

I travel to Bali regularly on business and usually stay in Kuta due to its proximity to the airport, however my wife joined me at the end of my most recent trip so we decided to head to the other side of the peninsula to see if it was any better, and it was a very pleasant change indeed.

the location of the resort is fantastic, sitting between two other five star hotels in a security controlled precinct on a semi-private beach so you don’t get harassed by street vendors every time you set foot outside

we took a Deluxe Studio on the top floor and although the room was a little ‘worn’ in places, it was clean and tidy. the butler service was prompt, and the buffet breakfasts each morning provided plenty of variety and volume with pleasant views of either the pools or beach.

we also dined at Arwana one night and although the food would be considered expensive by Bali standards, the size of the seafood platter justified the cost (approx $60) in a five-star hotel

there are plenty of other places to eat in the Bali collection area, as well as a group of restaurants outside the Nusa Dua security gates.

as a final thought, I would think that if it’s ok for the Indonesian President to stay there the week after we left, it should probably be suitable for most people.

Room Tip: unless you intend to swin in and out of your room all day, i would look for a room on the higher flo...

“A very good experience!”

I stayed in this hotel for 5 days. Upon Check in till now~ gonna check out tml :D, everything are fine to me. Welcome drinks and wet towels upon check in, to efficient butlers, to friendly receptionist and staff in Laguna. All thumb up! One comment, staff members in Awana during breakie time are not so attentive to Asian customers than to Non Asian customers. This had been observed twice when My hubby and I were dining at Awana during breakie time. plates were not collected promptly~ We hope this is not discrimination!

Overall, a good hotel, with reasonably comfy room and with numerous number of pools and good beach!

Dear DollBell

Greetings from The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua Bali!

Thank you for staying with us recently with yoru family and I am pleased to learn that you had a smooth arrival experience and that our team including the butlers and receptionists took care of you and the family very well.

I would like to deeply apologize for the inconvenience of your breakfast experience you encountered at Arwana.

We have never had a culture of treating customers differently from each other and we have always strongly focused on treating everyone equal. Although it may have come across as you were treated differently, I can assure you that this was certainly not the intention of our associates.

We however take your constructive feedback very seriously and I will personally ensure that urgent and continuous trainings will take place focusing on this subject.

Total customer satisfaction is our utmost priority and I appreciate it that this was brought up to my attention which at the end enables us to maintain and further improve on our services.

Otherwise it is pleasing to hear that you and family enjoyed our Resort grounds and its facilities and on behalf of The Laguna team, we look forward to welcoming you all back to our warmth and indigenous hospitality in the near future.

Yours sincerely

“Beware - bedbugs!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 February 2012

That was the worst experience we ever had.
We booked Lagun access room and after checked in at around noon went to get some rest after travel. At first night when I saw some small bug on the pillow I did not pay attention as thought it could be anything from outside. I wish I knew - it was a start of our problem which ruined half of our 12 nights stay. Thanks God we did not go together with our daughter!
After 2 nights I noticed some bites on the body of my wife which looked strange to be mosquito’s. I contacted our doctor back home and he said it looks to be bites of bedbug??!! We could not believe it – in a 5 star declared hotel ! We requested to change our room, and we moved – JUST ACROSS THE CORRIDOR! Did it help? NO!!! Same problem – we had dozens of bites which started to create a real problem – big red spots all over the body which you want to scratch like a hell! It’s good we had some antihistamine creams and antiallergic pills (just in case – who would knew we need them??) and after skype consultation from our home country doctor proceeded with treatments.
To make long story short few highlights:
- Hotel staff did not even propose to visit a doctor – why?
1. Because they knew that problem exists and doctor would only prove it
2. It was Chinese New Year and it could make problems for them in case info leeks
- Dear Starwood Net, how many hotels like this one you have???
I am still thinking – maybe I should proceed with legal case against the hotel
